I've read When The Wind Blows (the first draft adult version of the Maximum Ride series). Patterson's writing style seems pretty trashy, I wasn't convinced to read anything else by him.

Yeah, I got into that series too. I liked his books, but he seemed to change audience halfway through a series, which was entirely detrimental imo. (Talking about MR, not WTWB)

is this an American series? I haven't heard of them, and what I gleaned from wikipedia didn't encourage me.

Idk, probably. I enjoyed the first few, but its understandable that the rest arent that good. Read WTWB again, thought it was a lot better than the MR books, as understandably its for a different audience. what did you think was so trashy? I found it to be a great read, imo.
