despite that these forums are mostly dead i'm still surprised at there not being a thread for this.

world cup 2010 thread if i remember this right had an informative first post by inspired that got destroyed with the rest of his posts by accident during the spambot cleanup

italy just lost to costa rica rendering england's chances of qualification zero, though they were already hopeless after england lost to uruguay luis suarez. other surprises include the holders spain getting rinsed by the netherlands and also going out at the group stage.

Spains performance has been so pathetic its embarrasing, I was expecting to have several weeks of entertainment and instead, I just had two days of dissapointment, I hope Nadal does better at Wimbledon.

That South African leopard was the gayest mascot ever. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, just an observation.

I was supporting Costa Rica in the match with Italy because I thought England getting eliminated at the group stage would be funny shit. And it was.

In the end I liked the way Costa Rica played too, so I'm going for them for the rest of the tournament.

I'm happy to see England loose until it changes its mentality. I kinda feel the same way as Jeremy Clarkson when he said the last 'great' thing Britain made was the jaguar e type classical sports car. Its funny how our manager went all 'uk indepence party' saying English teams should nurture more home grown talent as opposed to only best players from other countries.
I dont watch football normally but I like the world cup, nice to see countries trying their best against each other ..I struggle to have any favorite sides tho. Anyway I dont have much to add here. Muscovar where are u from?

what i don't understand is why suarez would keep doing this thing where he randomly tries to eat people, despite that he's done it twice previously and suffered lengthy bans for it both times... it just doesn't make sense if he knows he's not going to get away with it

yea hm because the authorities would definitely treat it as a special case -so he'd be screwing his country by getting banned. (im not sure if Uruguy were already out nvm) So doing it for PR purposes (more ppl will talk about him, then money would follow) would've been selfish. I wonder if he was provoked like Zidanne's head butt to chest was -also by the Italy team hm. Its odd

ps. for those who live far away (lol) and didnt know- Spain was also victorious in the last European cup.

I feel like I was the only person who wanted the Argies to win. But in the end Germany deserved it.
