It's official: userlevels demo data is a valid submission. I'll make a PM later to inform other players; however, in the mean time, feel free to PM me your runs.

I prefer to put the map in userlevels.txt and play from there, since it automatically saves your PB. But that works, too.lifdoff wrote:Just do it in the level editor and record a demo.

Also I know that its a hassle, but I want to remind you that you can use Fiddler to load maps in nreality and see scores/submit demos as normal.
(i'm trying to submit this for the third time, so sorry if this turns into a multi post)

Lifdoff thats something I'm not sure about. Saving demos I have no idea.MiBeM wrote:I prefer to put the map in userlevels.txt and play from there, since it automatically saves your PB. But that works, too.lifdoff wrote:Just do it in the level editor and record a demo.
Molenator thanks, I'll do that :)
Edit: Atomizer, I'll try that, thanks.
Edit: Atomizer I admit i have no idea what I'm doing and when i tried to import it didn't work, maybe I'm missing a step. In your image there is something above the ticked option. Is that what nreality was set to do or something? If so do I need to select nreality from somewhere so it knows thats where to go instead, because i just imported when i saw import button and did nothing else.
Thank you in advance

The problem with this is the map being a protectedcontest - the website doesn't allow viewing the demos. I think we need sidke for that. I'll take a look at this Fiddler thing, seems useful in this situation.atomizer wrote:The submitted scores and ranking are on n.infunity.com: 235308 HS, 235307 SR.

The runs you have already submitted count for blur, but if you'd still like to have access to your own submitted runs you should rather contact ska since he has the ability to view the demos as far as I know.MiBeM wrote:The problem with this is the map being a protectedcontest - the website doesn't allow viewing the demos. So with that, you can still get the map data from the appspot page that is working. So you can still cobble together a functional demo of your own personal best, its just not as quick or easy as it was before.

Right. I thought this was axiomatic, but perhaps not.golf wrote:If you want to get your old demo data, just go to the map in NReality like you did when NUMA was still functional. All the scores are on the leaderboard, and your personal best is still in its usual spot, NReality is just unable to get the map data to play a demo. If you try to watch a demo right now on a userlevel, you'll get this output in the demo data box:

While we're on the topic of demos, request for when this deadline is up. When you release the demos for all the runs submitted, could you please put them into a single .txt file, instead of each run having its own file? Or at least hs in one file, and sr in a 2nd file? Was very tedious to open a new file for every single run last time, and now there will absolutely be no option to watch them in NReality to make things easier.ska wrote:Right. Actually, my plan was to put each demo onto individual flash drives, then disperse them all over the world, unveiling a series of clues to get to each flash drive. The journey will be admittedly arduous and needlessly protracted; many of you will die as you attempt to conquer mountainous terrain and subzero Antarctic winds; however, in the end, one of you will collect the golden flash drive, which—coincidentally—contains the meaning of life in a plain text notepad file. Currently, the meaning of life is only known by vankusss and myself, but one of you will collect them all™ and be declared the sole victor of Blur 5. You will also be ritualistically executed in a stadium in front of 100,000 bloodthirsty spectators, but don't let that dissuade you; your achievements will be commemorated for centuries to come!golf wrote: While we're on the topic of demos, request for when this deadline is up. To be honest, I'm not sure about how I'm going to handle that. Lifdoff is the only person to have submitted an improved run thus far.

Speedrun:
Technical difficulties aside, round 4 continued the trend of stellar runs from many of our distinguished speedrunners. Pony surprised us all when he announced his belated interest in defending his season 4 speedrun title, but more on that later...
Jp27ace was the first speedrunner to lay down a sub-1000 speedrun, clocking in with a respectable 885-frame demo. The run was tied by MiBeM a little over 19 hours later; however, although cleaner, it was done with a run which didn't implement a clever trick. This was because jp27ace, unbeknownst to MiBeM (and everyone else for that matter), utilized an innovation near the beginning, consisting of using only a single wall-jump to propel himself up to the uppermost switch.
Jp27ace’s run was soon conquered by danielr, with a route completely disparate from the tied players (whose runs used more-or-less identical routes, save the innovation on the far-left side). Using demo mode, it seems that his route was faster than MiBem’s, but it was still slower than jp27ace’s route.
Macrohenry made his presence known by shaving a mere two frames off danielr’s run. Macrohenry’s route was practically a carbon copy of jp27ace's, but with the touch of quality you would expect from something that has been German-engineered. Macrohenry actually submitted his run after Eddy, but I’m not a fan of anticlimaxes.
Danielr held his speedrun 0th for a little over five hours, before Eddy did what Eddy does best. Eddy’s run was a slight variation of danielr’s route, with the key difference being a faster collection of the top-right key switch. Not long after this, NUMA changed domains, and the fate of the competition was no longer assured. However, I wasn’t going to let this happen, and I decided to open up the competition to allow secret PM submissions. Well… I am sure glad I did, because with just 3 hours remaining for round 4, Pony dropped an absolute beast of a run—eclipsing the Spanish grandmaster by the barest of margins.
All of the speedrun demos can be found below, so you can analyse them all for yourselves; but before you do, the current overall speedrun standings are being as hotly contested as the round 4 speedrun map was...
MiBeM’s consistency has allowed him to break into the top-4; Pony has come from literally nowhere to edge ahead of KoopaTroopa, who didn’t submit a run for this round, and push out Nadroj247, who also failed to submit a speedrun this round; and lastly, though the top-3 positions haven’t changed, only a single point now separates our top-3 players: 1st: jp27ace, 2nd: Eddy, and 3rd: Macro, with 32, 32, and 31 points respectively. In fact, the difference between jp27ace and Eddy is due to the fact that Eddy’s total speedrun frame count is 1897 frames, whereas jp27ace’s is 1896 frames. That’s right! Eddy only trails jp27ace by a solitary frame! But, with double points next round, it really is anyone’s game…
Speedrun standings after round 4: (please advise me if there are any errors; it's 4:42 a.m. here, so mistakes are possible.)

Speedrun:
(1 point) — Jirka:
(2 points) — golfkid:
(3 points) — Mohit_Ghune:
(4 points) — vankusss:
(5 points) — MiBeM:
(6 points) — jp27ace
(7 points) — danielr:
(8 points) — macrohenry:
(9 points) — EddyMataGallos:
(10 points) — Pony:
The summary for the highscores section, including demos and point totals, will be released within the next 48 hours, along with the revelation of the new maps for round 5, as well as an updated countdown clock on the main page (and 10th page). Please stay tuned!

Hey, good news, everyone! Eddy is running Blur now!EddyMataGallos wrote:Oh, 1 frame and 3 hours away from deadline? You coldblooded bitch.

Time's up! :P We're waiting impatiently for the results.ska wrote:The summary for the highscores section, including demos and point totals, will be released within the next 48 hours, along with the revelation of the new maps for round 5, as well as an updated countdown clock on the main page (and 10th page). Please stay tuned!
