Do we still have to do them in order? Templex's Gym isn't even posted yet.

Yes, you have to do them in order. I'm going to upload the remaining Gym maps in a .txt for competitors to use until the maps are submitted to NUMA.

Edit: I forgot about [ map ] tags. The Gym maps not on NUMA are in map data boxes in the Gym Challenge Thread.

1. Yes.
2. Exactly.
3. I don't see why not.
4. I will be keeping track of everyone in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, so I will know how everyone's doing.
5. The third person emails the result to transcendblog(at)gmail(dot)com as soon as he has judged both maps. I will update the spreadsheet accordingly.

Do we just have to get a better score than the gym leader's map to win?

First off, spudz, that was excellent. xD

To answer Erik-Payer, the Judge has to give you a higher score than they personally gave the Gym map.

To answer GTM, no.

May I suggest a revival of the Neditor Nation competitor sig tags from the last forum?

One random little question.

If I give a completion and an agd do I get "extra credit" or is an agd the highest possible. I'm pretty sure about it but just want to make sure.

spudzalot, an AGD is pretty much a completion demo where you happen to get all the gold. The AGD bonus replaces the completion bonus, meaning +3 is the most you can add to your score for demoing a Gym map.

The Gym order can be found on this page, either in the Gyms section of the rules or at the bottom of the page, where all the Gyms and their rules are listed.

Just a little query about the judging system. It seems that the difference in judge's opinions of the gym maps is quite large, with X giving Templex's map ****, whilst Y gave it ****, almost **** more marks than X gave it. Perhaps a fairer system would be to have all of the judges judge each gym map, and then find an average between them to set as the definitive rating for the gym map; a fixed guideline to pass?

Hopefully this will avoid instances where a map rated higher than another by one judge doesnt make it through, whilst a person with a lower-ranking map than the first-person's gets through.

Edited out the scores. Also, the average wouldn't help much; it would only make different Judges harder to win with. With the average, you'll be less likely to win with a Judge that typically gives lower marks instead of a Judge that gives higher marks. My two cents. See my post on the next page.

GTM (spoilers deleted by yappydog, correctly only on edit #3) wrote:Just a little query about the judging system. Two things:
1) I do sort of agree with the idea of averaging the judge's marks for relative quality, but now the contest's started it'd be unfair to change the rules; more importantly:

2) How do you know the judges' scores for Leaders? I'm a judge, and unless I've missed some clever post of Pheidippides' (possible), I don't see how I could know the other judges' scores.

Obviously, the problem in 1) is solved if issue 2) is removed. If you don't know the judges' scores, all you know is "I won" (OK, next Gym) or "I lost" (Make a better map, regardless of which Judge for, next week). If these scores are on the Net, I fear we'll get lots of "Why's X judging me? I want to be judged by Y, I'm more likely to win" posts.

Hmmm. Well I was given the scores of both **** map and my map by ****, so I assumed that these scores were public (I think I saw the same on another map) I also assumed that the judges all shared what marks they had given w/e maps anyway, but I guess to assume makes an ass out of u and me.

However, I agree in that the scores shouldnt necessarily be made public, so ill remove them from my map and encourage others to do the same.
