Do you get headaches alot? If so, how do you deal with them?

I get them alot. I soak some rag I can find and hold it to my forehead where the headache is the worst and lie down. If that doesn't work, pleasure pills.

I used to get headaches all the time in grades 1 - 5. Now I get them once a week. To get rid of them, I just take Tylenol, and the pain goes away in 30 minutes.

I rarely get them, but when I do, binaural tones for the win.
And Aspirins just in case.

One time I had this one where it was beyond bearable, and I figured it was my braces causing it, and the binaural tones really worked for me.

I suffer from severe migraines and cluster headaches. It is the worst pain I've ever felt (worse than any kick to the balls or breaking of bones) and I can do nothing when one attacks me. I have been prescribed Axert for them and if it's a migraine and no cluster headache then that does work pretty well if taken at first symptom. Though, if it is a cluster headache, I turn off the lights, close my eyes, and I die for a few hours.

Seriously, worst pain ever.

For those who don't quite get what clovic was saying, cluster headaches suck.

I don't normally have headache problems, though.

I rarely get headaches. I usually just lie down and ignore them if I do get them. Back in the day (grades 2-4) I used to get head aches about once a month but they were seriously minor.

I read somewhere that a large amount of headaches are cause by dehydration. I'm too lazy to research that again, though.

Stop staring at your computer screen for countless hours and you won't get headaches.

What i normally do because i get stress headaches alot is i rub the sides of my temple or my ear. because there are some pressure points there that control the brain. another thing is if you get stiff or tense up it makes it worse i found. if you relax and rub your neck it helps too. but if the headache is too bad i take Tylonal Rapid Release which works miricles.

i hope that helps!

Good Luck.

I get headache's whenever I've been in the cold too long without proper coverings. I also get it when I've been playing video games that require you to tap buttons or rotate joysticks a lot. Sometimes I get them randomly too.

ha, if you become a hardened battlefield warrior of the "staring at monitor" type, you'll adapt and your headaches will become null.

that said, I rarely ever get headaches. If I do then I just drink some water and they usually go away after a few minutes. Water is the key though. It helps with any headaches, allergies and keeps me in a better mood. It also is essential to life, so if you're just sitting around drinking whiskey and soda pop all day, you may want to rethink your water intake. Exercising makes water taste like a drink of the gods. That might help as well.

Note that the headaches due to computer monitors issue has been virtually eliminated by LCD displays, which do not refresh the way CRT (tube) monitors do. I recommend upgrading to an LCD if you still have a CRT.

If you have a CRT monitor, go in to your advanced display properties and ensure that the refresh rate is above 60Hz. 60Hz is slow enough for your brain to notice, particularly when your eyes are moving, and this flickering tends to cause headaches. Unfortunately, 60Hz is still a very, very common refresh rate - some monitors do not support higher rates at their full resolution.

If headaches are still a problem with LCD monitors, there are a number of things to be checked.
A) Color reproduction. Is white on your monitor accurate? monitors with bad color profiles or that are miscalibrated sometimes cause headaches.
B) Brightness. In a dark room, you should reduce the backlight level on your monitor, and increase the backlight level in a bright room. Having your monitor too bright relative to the room around you can cause headaches and eye stress.
C) Contrast. Too much contrast can cause headaches. Try reducing contrast using your monitors 'Contrast' control.
D) Farsightedness. If books and the like also give you headaches, you're likely slightly farsighted. See an optometrist to find out if you should get prescription eyeglasses.

There are probably other things you can try changing that I'm not thinking of.

I don't get headaches, i get full-blown migranes. If i catch them early with some mersendol and a dark room i'll be fine after about five hours sleep, but if i don't then my head will hurt like hell and i'll be chucking for a while. It is not pleasant.

I get Optical Migraines from time to time, but as rarely as I get 'em, they're debilitating. My vision blots out entirely, and I can't do anything but lay in a single position for hours at a time.
