I love the rules here - i think they can be pretty much summed up like this;
"If you are a dick, you will be banned, no matter what you do. If you arent a dick, you wont be banned, unless we legally have to."

I believe in the tenant that the intentions of actions are far more important than the actions themselvse.

I knew that a lot of people did say the same thing as I did, but does it bother you that much? I was only giving my opinion.

The truth is that I'm sorry. I know that I can change the board style.

But it was a kind of a chock to me to change from the lightness and modernity of the old forum to this. I've seen so many like this one, and purple isn't indeed my favorite color. =P

I so was not expecting this to happen so soon. Here's my initial thoughts:

I don't like the default skin, but hopefully that'll change soon, so I'm not so worried about that. I personally think the skin should have more of an N-theme.
I really like how there's a map data option, an MP3 option, and a NUMA option. It's about time something like that happened. I also like the new attachment limits, and the new poll options.
I had to crop my Opera sig to make it fit the 600-pixel max sig width requirement. D: (I wonder what's going to happen to the "Post the Smiley of the Mood You're In" game now that there's no picture smilies)
Too bad custom spoilers don't work now. I had to change my sig because of that.
I also don't really like the lack of subforums - subforums feel more organized to me, and they create less clutter on the front page, though some people probably think the opposite (which is why there aren't subforums anymore).
There's quite a few other little changes, most of them making the forum better, but I'm too lazy to list all of them out and write my thoughts about them.
Overall, I'm pretty sure the move will be good.

P.S.: Whoa, I like how the forums notify you if there's been a new post while you're posting.

Edit: I also like the delete post option, but is there any way to change the number of posts/topics per page? I can't seem to find it here.

I liked the new spoilers better than those collapsables. I think they made more sense this way. You just can't collapse huge images stuff into them; but that wasn't the point of spoilers to begin with, was it? They are for hiding information, not docking content that you want everyone to see.

At any rate, if people didn't like them, we won't have them. I think we've taken them down, so if you try that tag you won't get anything workable.

Man, these new forums are frickin' awesome, but with them come some pros and cons.

Pros:

I love the new BBcode stuff. I love the way it integrates with NUMA more.

It just looks cooler. All the way.

I love the friends/foes thing, in face it would be kinda cool to be able to set up a chat with your friends just like facebook does. Not everyone has IRC.

kkstrong loves the change.

Cons:

The external links to the places such as NUMA, Wikia, Legacy, etc. were taken down.

The way the layout is designed, you cannot comfortably use another skin that isn't dark.

The move is a bit slow, but that is -very- understandable. Also these forums are a bit slower than the old forums, in page to page break.

Between every action you make on the forums, you have you confirm your request. That just makes the forums really tedious and a slower process to use.

Oh, by the way, the new forums need an icon (the one that appears when you bookmark it, appears in the address bar, etc.), and I agree with Mr_X. I look forward to the time when everything (well, at least everything that should get moved) gets moved over, and everything gets settled. No need to rush, though.

All in time. The guy who acts a bit like zombie that needs to be revived by drones every so often to continue map making has just revealed that he has a life. Oy vey!

But still, these forums do need some work, such as with spoiler tags, a custom Metanet skin, some useful links, and some means to have custom titles. Over time, but they still need to be done before some people here (runningninja?!?) start a riot.

I really don't like the new forums skin. I prefer the old one the purple just doesn't go that well with the black, but I'm exited that we have a new one.

Edit: Also, I liked having the ninja's, drones, and stuff for buttons. I hate these new check things.
