Ohhh! Nice idea. I'm quite a few years away from VCE but I have a friend who is in Uni now who got 99.95 in his VCE. He lives where you (aparently) live. So yeah, nice idea but at the moment I don't understand any of that writing on the first post. Is the 86 or something at the top your overall scrore?

Yeah, the number at the top is the result of adding the score for english, and the three highest subjects, plus 10% of the next two.

Fuuuuuuuuck. Just out of interest, is he doing aerospace engineering/law or nuclear physics/law ?

Medicine. He's a really nice guy. Unusually nice, not normal in the modern age. But yeh, I know another girl in the same city who got 98.something and is now in Adelaide in medicine!

I just took the Practice Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT), since I'm in 11th grade. I haven't gotten my full score report, but my counselor gave me my percentiles (that is, the percent of all students that did worse on the test than me).

Critical Reading: 98th percentile
Mathematics: 97th percentile
Writing; 99th percentile

I'm pretty happy with those scores. I also took the PSAT last year, and got 99/87/99. so I did worse on Critical Reading, but overall I did much better. I think I may have done well enough to be a finalist for the National Merit Scholarships, but I won't be sure until I get my full score report. I'll be taking the ACT later this year, and probably next year too.

There was also a 38 for Music Performance: Solo, but it didn't count.

Out of 50. They work on a normal distribution (bell curve) with a mean of 30 and a standard deviation of approximately 7.

i forgot how many aussies there are here.
sadly, i likely wont get a VCE score unless i can hoodwink my parents into letting me come back for year 12 (i currently reside in new zealand, however im in melbourne at the moment to see everyone) much less likely 2008 VCE results. george, those are great results, and that isnt a bad score for spesh, god.

Yeah, that's not exactly a bad spec score. I did my SACE last year, and...
Tertiary Entrance Rank: 69.15

Physics: 15.5 / 20
Mathematical Studies: 15.0 / 20
Philosophy: 13.5 / 20
Specialist Mathematics: 13.0 / 20
Information Technology Studies: 12.5 / 20 (contribution: 6.25)
That 13 is scaled up from 11 because Specialist Mathematics is so devilishly hard. Apparently. I didn't really try.
