No need to lock this. But as already stated, italics do work in hermes. Your problem must lie elsewhere.

Err, somehow I managed to fail at actually locking it anyway...wedgie wrote:No need to lock this.

The i tags wrap text with a span tag that has an inline style="font-style: italic". An inline style like that should take precedence over anything else, so the style's probably not being overridden. I can't imagine what the problem is.

Italics have always worked fine for me in Hermes.
You use, like, a Mac or something, right? Maybe it's something to do with fonts and how they get along with your system / browser?

Not necessarily, but thanks for contributing!
With the forum change we decided to ease up on locking topics. If a topic has served it purpose then people should generally stop posting in it, *cough*, and it will sail down the active lists and disappear. Though it will still be open if it is ever needed in the future. A topic shouldn't need to be locked to stop people posting in it. Members should just use their own discretion to know when a topic is 'dead'.

Second, we still don't really know why incluye can't see italics.

I've also got 9.62. Maybe it's a bug in the Mac version. I can deal with it.

Have you tried using a different browser, just to check if it is some glitch with Opera?

Oh, guys, that reminds me, I put in some extra formatting for Mac users using Opera. If their name is anything containing "cluye", then the italics won't work.
