A friend of mine, a talented artist, has recently unveiled what he describes as his greatest artistic creation.
I would normally keep this in the realm of my personal life, but I was so moved by this masterpiece that I simply had to share it.

The author's description:
Marek Kapolka wrote:I know how difficult it is to maintain your resolve- your drive to continue creating when presented with a piece of work so magnificent, so blatantly the culmination and climax of all expressive art forms hind and hence, but think of my own tribulations that I have to look forward to. I have written my magnum opus, the greatest work of my time, at the tender age of approximately 3. I have nothing to look forward to but a long slow decline into obscurity, each succeeding work to be held up to and scrutinized in the ever fading light of my first true stroke of genius, only to be cast aside into its colossal shadow. You all have your life's work cut out for you- your long steady rise as your genius develops and your accomplishments grow in scope, but I will forever be mired in the bog of my prodigious childhood, haunted by the ghosts of my former glory.

So go now, and perform your life's work, without dawdling of course but for god's sake and your own without undue haste, because you have much more time to spend than your ancestors did, and you don't want to end up a washed up curmudgeon like I have.
Without further ado, it is an utmost honor to present to you,
Thelvare Hagly Banny By Marek (ALL BY MAREK)

True to form, Marek has not only created this vibrant art form but has also "pulled a Beckett" as we in the artist community like to say. I call your attention to panel six. One's eyes are immediately drawn to what I can safely call the apex of this particular scene: a mountain. I propose, however, that this is not just any mountain. As the text clearly illustrates "BANNYS 2PEPL" or "bunnies to people" in the post-modern-esque speech that Marek employs. Here's the crux of his work. At first glance, this epic appears to be SAD BANNY and his relationship with his mother, a modern Oedipus Rex, if you will, but no, this is, in fact, an artist's biting commentary on the state of our personal and intra-personal relationships in the hustle and bustle of our every day life. I draw your attention to the climax of the mountain. What do you perceive? A flag. A flag with the letters "BS" emblazoned on it's unfrocked majesty. I, for one, agree with the artist and dare to call bullshit on today's values! Bullshit on today's economy! Bullshit on the necessity of war! 10/10

meanwhile, elsewhere: a modern and free-thinking apprectiation of a painting-
"Cool picture man. That's like, really artsy and stuff. I like lookin at your pictures man. Did you draw them with a brush? Thats cool. Thats realll cool. I like, totally dig art. y'know. Pretty pictures and stuff. They really get me all emotional. Emotions and shit, man."

This is fucking bullshit. I was expecting something really nice. I'd seen some of your unicorn/My Little Pony fanfic of Deviant, Tsukaraito, and I was expecting a lot from you. But I end up with this fucking shit? Trash. He's just some shock artist, like Jasper Jonzz, or Criss Angel.

It's not really the quality I like about this work, it's really more of an uprising of childhood nostalgia that you'd get when seeing this, like on some random day, you'd look back into your portfolios and see all the things you did when you were in Kindergarten, and just smile when you'd see it. This piece of artwork is pretty much the same thing.
