What do your parents think of N?

Thats pretty much what I get from my dad
and also 'oh, that game again'. My parents are fine with me spending a bit of time playing games. Its not uncommon in holidays to come home and see dad playing Star Wars Battlefront on the PS2

but its mostly my older brother who makes the comments about me wasting time

They regard it as a waste of time. I tell them that it's better than spending an equal amount of time watching television, though. On the other hand, they don't know about the IRC or the forums or anything like that; if I had been spending my whole time here just playing N I could understand where they're coming from.

My dad tried to block it once. I got back at him by switching shells on his account from Windows Explorer to Litestep.

My mom's fine with it.

My parents couldn't give less of a crap, nor when I'm playing anything else.
My brother is kind of playing it. I wonder if he's downloaded it? But he seems to like the game.
My sister doesn't really know and her friend... I don't know what she thinks.

After four years, my parents have taken it away about five times, because I spend 'too much time on it.'

My Mum doesn't like me playing any games in general, but she thought this was kinda cool.

Dad absolutely loves the physics portion of it, and was amazed at all of the DDAs I was 'playing' a year or so ago.

switching shells?
From wikipedia:
"A Unix shell, is a command interpreter (see shell) and script host that provides a traditional user interface for the Unix operating system and for Unix-like systems."

I think my dad is loosening up on it since I moved it to the external hard drive.

they dont know how it works and think viruses are in everything.
if someone finds out you are making virus downloads, youre in a lot of trouble. there are not an uber amount of sites that have viruses. over-cautious.

They don't know...

I've been stealthing my way to the forums and numa for the past year and a bit that I've been here.

Oh, and my brother loathes the game, but likes my concept maps...and door-eeries. Oh and Cliftys maps too.

Mum: Refers to it as "That game you do". Probably doesnt know about the forums and w/e.
Dad: Wants me to keep mapping, mostly interested in the physics and concepts rather than the game itself. He also loves ddas.
Sister: Refers to it as "That boring game you do"
Baby Cousin: Loves it, made his own level on NUMA (With my help, check my profile for details)

Do you guys normally talk about video games with your parents?
As long as I don't spend much time on it, they don't ask any questions; plus, my door has a lock.
Come to think of it, i don't interact with my parents that much.

My mom has seen me play it but doesn't comment.

My dad thinks it's very unoriginal.

My brother said to me: "I can't believe you're still playing that game."

I have a family full of gamers. Sure, I don't play N anymore, but they cheered me on during Insomnicon, they congratulated me when a map of mine made it into N+. My mom has never played it, but doesn't care whatsoever about it, my step-dad doesn't care about it, but all he does is play games and watch movies, my Dad has played it and died miserably on the first level, and my step-mom has played it, and she enjoys it.. too bad she didn't get that far either.
