And I typed in favorites:gloomp author:BionicCryonic and saw all of my maps. Meanwhile, I manually searched gloomp's favorites and didn't see a single one. Anyone know why?

Note that gloomps favorites are also a search criteria.
I was searching through peoples favorites...

I would assume that you cannot search both categories at once, hence one over rules the other. I tried it, and the same thing happens with my maps.
Hope that helps.

http://greenbrown.bandcamp.comPeople write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life

To search for authors in people favorites list, type Favorites:gloomp ByonicCryonic

TFK, if you look at your link, you will notice that doesn't really work. It turns up maps tagged "byoniccryonic," rather than maps tagged "author:ByonicCryonic."
Also, just to be clear: I have never played a ByonicCryonic map, much less favorited one. No offense.

Oh right... nevermind. Is that why some people tag their maps with their names?

I would suppose. Same reason some people tag their map with the map's name. Seems sensible enough.

This actually does work sometimes. I know of a few authors where I can search author:Pheidippides, favorites:<author's name> and only my maps that have been favorited by that author turn up. For some other authors, it turns up all my maps even if they actually have favorited a map or two of mine. I don't know whether there's a relationship between whether or not the search works and how many total favorites an author has, or something to that effect, but it's possible. Or it could just be a glitch in the system. I wouldn't bet against that either.
I hope my laptop comes back from service soon. This would've been a lot easier to type. :/

That's strange. I guess sometimes it doesn't register that there are none. It only happens when a user has not favorited any maps by that author, and it depends on whose favorites you're looking at (compare: glitched, unglitched).
So the whole picture is: you can search for maps by a particular author within someone's favorites, but if there aren't any (by that author), sometimes it'll glitch and disregard the favorites tag.
