Well, I don't watch many movies, and the only horror movie I've seen is Night of the Living Dead, so I'd have to say that.

Fall of Darkness. Or is it Darkness Falls? Either way it's a really dumb movie, but for whatever reason it scared the shit out of me. Probably because we ended up playing manhunt in the middle of the night right afterward.

I have to agree with gloomp here. The Shining is probably the scariest movie I've seen.

The Exorcist was the first horror movie i ever saw, and by far the scariest. especially since just after i saw it, the power in my city went out for a week or so. after that, i saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and thought that it should be rated less than R.

There aren't any scary movies. I keep watching horror movies trying to find one that actually scares me, but I haven't found it yet. So the logical conclusion is that no movies are scary.

When I was young, I watched the movie House on Haunted Hill (the new one) and that kept me up some nights for some reason (like where some guy turns around and theres a hole where someone carved out his face). I find no movies scary now

Yes, I was indeed disappointed when there was only one chainsaw death in the movie. But the mask that Leatherface wore was freaky.

I'm not a fan of scary movies, due to the fact that my brain switches to the "Repeat [This is not real, this is not real, this is not real] mode". I can't seem to enjoy them, but ones that scared me the most was probably The Shining or The Exorcist.

Paranormal State/The Haunting on television ftw!

The only movie that ever got to me was The Haunting (the newer version), but that was when I was younger. Horror movies don't really scare me now. Besides, most directors think that horror=gore, which I find completely ridiculous. Psychological thrillers > mindless gore-fests. Though the first Saw was really good in my opinion, but they had to switch directors and from Saw II on it was nothing but, "Hey, let's see if we can fit all of the possible ways to kill someone into one movie! And then do it three more times!"

the Mist was scary, if only because i was really pumped about watching it and because it was one of the few horror movies i've ever seen. some parts were lame, though.

Honestly, the scariest thing I've ever seen in film was that scene in The Matrix where Neo gets JohnTurturro'd by the mirror? Mother. Fucker. I didn't use a mirror for two years.

Right. I saw Turistas, which is basically sex, violence then nude torture, and it completely disgusted me. I found myself thankful I hadn't wasted money seeing it in a theatre.

You are correct (not logically), with one exception. It, the movie of the Stephen King book. Saw it in third grade--never been scared of a movie since, but that... Ugh.

PS: I'm not remotely afraid of clowns normally, so that doesn't explain it.

Although it isn't scary exactly, 28 Days Later is a great film with expert atmosphere, music and artistic choice. I wouldn't expect anyone to to scared but it is by all means an excellent movie. Pick it up if you haven't seen it.
Being an oversensitive person I did get a little scared while watching it just because of the distinct tone of the movie.

The Descent is an hour-and-forty-minute long dripping vadge-fest. I've never seen so much feminist symbolism packed into a movie in my life.

It is extremely long, and kind of dated these days. I can't really comment on how scary it is because it's never held my interest past the halfway point, but I do love this scene near the beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZVq2Gm_Zjk

Watch any scary movie you please while listening to Van Halen. You'll probably find it humorous rather than scary.

I don't think I've ever been scared by a movie, but I hardly watch movies anyway-my attention span simply isn't that long.
