I can do the same thing. It doesn't do anything except show everyone how biased and close minded a particular train of thought is.

Wii: SSBB and MK:Wii have the best multiplayer experience for any game/console
360: Live is nearly universally hailed as the best online experience there is
PS3: has LBP which is devilishly fun

One other comment: the 360 is the only controller that actually fits my hands, PS3 is cramped, and the waggle is good for waggle, but many games nearly require a GC or classic controller

Heheheh, I'm loving how smartalco's right in that the console war is between Wii, X360 and LittleBigPlanet.

How about :

If you want to enjoy yourself by shooting zombies while selling drugs, looking up other games, watching demos on N, and talking to everyone here, then the PC is your best option. Many people rave about how the PS3 or Xbox is the best. imo, the Wii clearly outshines them in gameplay, graphics goes to the PS3. Yet...Yet... You can have all of that and more on a freakin computer.

I don't understand why the PC is thrown out of the question when it comes to consoles.

Include the whole family of systems in a debate. Then we will talk.

You know, I hadn't thought of ^that^. I had never actually realized the importance of the PC until now, and, though it may not be a console that puts you straight into the game, it still allows you to have a ton of stuff running at one time, without the damn machine overloading all over you. It may not have all the fancy features of a PS3, the incredible gameplay experience of a Wii, or the awesome games of an XBOX, but what it does have is apparently copacetic enough for all of us to want to be posting on these forums (or chatting or emailing or whatever).

I think we've left out a contender in the console kingdom, (try sayin THAT three times fast) and on this debate, I hereby rule these [four] contenders as follows:
PS3: luxurious and picturesque,
Wii: awesome gameplay,
XBOX: kick-ass hardcore gaming,
PC: laid-back PC gaming

If we're imposing stereotypes all of a sudden.

Wii: For casual gamers and Nintendo die-hards. And people who want to have fun without the stigma of owning a games console.
Xbox360: For a wide range of audiences, satisfying each but arguably not as well as the more specialist consoles. Jack of all trades?
PS3: For core gamers, but providing a number of different soft/hardware outlets for a variety of users.
PC: Everyone should have one, so I'm not going to try and stigmatise PC gamers.

I don't believe the PS3 is for core gamers at all, but in fact, for anyone who wants the best machine for their money's worth. The only argument in the world you can make for the 360 is the widest game selection. It still costs more than the Wii, and it isn't nearly as powerful as the Playstation 3. If we're talking from a strictly console design, it's the worst designed of the three. However, it's broad and excellent game selection should be marked as a plus. I'm just wary of that as an argument because I read a statistic that the average gamer doesn't own more than 12 games per generation. And the Wii and the PS3 both easily have 12 amazing games.

BUT, it costs considerably less than the PS3 and is a load more powerful than the Wii. It just depends how you phrase it. /perspective.

Also, I'm going to sidestep this for now and produce a funny image.

I'm not going to go warhead, but I think the Wii just needs tapped into. All the power and innovation is right there, but no games *coughMP3cough* have actually used it to it's full potential. I do have a PS3 in my house, but the only good game I got is Oblivion IV which is really good, don't get me wrong. What ti all comes down to these days is: "Hmm, is this game an FPS? It's not? Well, let's scrap it and start over."

In Aussieland atleast, the 360 Arcade package is cheaper than the Wii by atleast 25%, got close to 40% around Christmas.

Yes, the arcade is cheaper then the Wii in every other place as well (that I know of at least), but an xbox without an HD just sucks at being an xbox

Reply to some earlier comments:
The GPU in the PS3 and 360 is roughly equivalent in terms of power, the place where the PS3 has the ridiculous amounts of power is the CPU, and by 'ridiculous amounts of power' I mean 'ridiculous amounts of power that is being limited by the GPU and no one can figure out wtf to do with this extra 75% of a number crunching machine', LBP I think probably used the the most of any game yet just because the physics in that game are ridiculous (if you pay attention, every level is actually just a bunch of objects stuck together, all of which can be affected by the physics, make a giant piece in the level creator and you can still move it if you hit it hard enough with something else)

That being said, my Radeon 4850 in my computer could kick both their arses in terms of graphics power, and my CPU is more powerful then that of the 360s' (not as powerful as the PS3, but like I said, no one can figure out what to do with the horsepower of the PS3)

And there is a reason the PC is generally left out of console wars: price.
My graphics card and CPU both cost roughly as much as an arcade 360 (now the parts are down to $150 and $180 respectively...) the motherboard was $120, ram was $30, PSU was $80, HD was $90, case was $50, plus other miscellaneous things I'm forgetting, you can't build a decent gaming computer for less then ~$650, thats a 360 and a PS3 combined (if you pick the right SKUs), although the price of games for the PC has generally stuck at $50 opposed to $60 for 360/PS3, so I guess if you buy 60 games, you will have saved the price of the PC anyway (but that is entirely unrealistic), I still prefer PC gaming for most things (aside from Ace Combat, which just works well on a console)

suki's chart on the previous page is still the best generalization of all 4 options as far as I'm concerned :D

Disclaimer: I own an PC and a 360, my roommate has a Wii that we use pretty regularly, and there is a PS3 at my house, so yes, I have used every form possible quite a bit

What?! A Console war and no one told me?!

Anywho, with the Zombies, you've also got the House of the Dead series. That's good fun.

Now, a couple of arguements:

As GTM was saying, the Wii can't be compared with the other two. It's completely different; it's designed for people to come along, pick up the controller and start playing. That's why there is no real hardcore games on there; it's a family console. And, it's better. Not in processor power or graphics, but the fact that because of it's family friendly gimmicks, it's been the best selling of the three.

Almost 45 million of the little white boxes have been sold. For every PS3 sold, 2 Wiis have been shipped.

You can argue that the PS3 or the Xbox is better all you want, but when it comes to raking in the cash (which is the main purpose of consoles), the Wii trumps both.

And there's the fact that the motion sensor is about to be greatly advanced when they release the Wii Sports Resort/Motion Plus bundle.

Um, Shaun? Games consoles aren't about making cash unless you're Nintendo. Microsoft has lost £1 billion a year consistently since the launch of the Xbox360, and still produces it as a service to the fanbase and the games industry as a whole.

Naah, I thought I'd bring up another point of discussion...

Wrong.
a) MS started actually making profit on every xbox sold around 8 months ago
b) even if they weren't making a profit directly on every xbox, they still get commission for every game sold on the system, and Live subscriptions also make a boatload

MS (or Sony) isn't in the industry to 'serve the fanbase and games industry', they are in it to make money, if for some reason they thought that there was no chance of making any money on the next round of consoles, they will jump ship and there will be one less console next generation

Ahahahahahahahaha!

That's right! I forgot how multi-million dollar corporations often do things for the fans.

Microsoft is practically a father to all of us gamers. It hurts itself by selling it's console dirt-cheap, and then it puts out sweet deals, like, "Trade in three bricked consoles, get a keychain!"

Ridiculous.

Oh thank god, I'm glad I was wrong in that respect. I'm glad they're making a profit on it; I must have been referring to an old source. Thanks for ratifying that.

I am now confused as to where you introduced sarcasm into your comments (assuming that that last post was indeed sarcastic and that you weren't intentionally leaving out a response to anything else I said just so you can continue living in your own fantasy world where MS is Jesus and Walmart isn't actually screwing several hundred thousand people over)
