Huh? I didn't AGD the second map. Is that what you mean? I don't understand.
AGD for ChaoStar's first submission:
I liked figuring out the fastest AGD route. getting down took me a while to get.
EDIT: Nevermind. I did AGD it.
EDIT2: AGD-death for GTM's first submission:
That last jump is pretty hard. I really like the rest, though.

@gtm (and everyone): after 3 people have playtested and agd'd your map, you pm the map to one (1) judge. that judge will then pm the map to all other judges, and they will all give their vote to...someone. one of us. we'll figure that out soon. but judging is after playtesting, and you submit it to one judge, with a private message.

Partner up with someone, and playtest their maps, they'll playtest yours. It's explained in the PM I sent out to all of you guys... if you didn't get it, PM me.
As for the whole judging thing, once we get ten willing judges to start, then you can PM your map to me. I'll send it out to all the judges, and they'll send it back to me with either a yes or a no. I'll then tell you whether it got accepted or not, and if it did, I'll save a copy of it in a .txt file on my computer.

I thought of something: The judges could give the maps a x/10 difficulty rating when they judge them. Then, you would take the average and place it accordingly in the .txt file. Or have separate files. That would make it somewhat easier to order them in phase 3.
It could also be the "official" playtesters' jobs.

I veto that. 3 people is too much. one AGD is good enough, however the judge will most likely playtest it as well. Also, if someone really wants it judged, they can PM it to me, yungerkid, or kaos.yungerkid wrote:@gtm (and everyone): after 3 people have playtested and agd'd your map, you pm the map to one (1) judge. that judge will then pm the map to all other judges, and they will all give their vote to...someone. one of us. we'll figure that out soon. but judging is after playtesting, and you submit it to one judge, with a private message.

Wait, Chaos... you're saying that you, yungerkid, and kaos already have the power to make a map accepted into the pack?

no. only i do (out of the three of us). that's because only i am a judge. only judges have the power to accept or decline a map to the pack.
@chaostar: alright. i agree with you as well, actually; i think that one playtester is enough.
by his last sentence, he meant to amend what i said. he meant to say that if you want your map judged, you can pm it to kaos (not just any of us) and he'll send it to all the judges. that remains true.

Yeah, but what I meant was, has judging started yet? The way he said it (and you) sounds like I could PM you a map right now, and have it judged. Hmm?
P.S.~ can we resub maps that we've improved after they are rejected once? Is there a limit to submission times?

phase two has started. so you could pm any one of us a map right now. however, not all of the judges (only two) have openly agreed to being judges so far. so you won't get a full judging yet. judging has technically started, but i am a judge, and i haven't seen any maps yet. we're just waiting for all the judges to come online, basically.
you certainly can. there is no limit to submission times (so long as it's a reasonable time from now); however, there is a limit of either 5 or 10 maps per person; i can't remember which right now.

Judging has not started yet, but we fully expect it to sometime in the next day or two, once all the judges get back to me and either accept or decline the position. Then we'll fill it out til we've got ten. Then you'll PM me a map, I'll send it to the judges, they'll send me back either yes or no, and I'll tell you their decision.
Ordering the levels is something we'll come to when we get there, but ideas will be great right now, 'cause it's gonna be a huge task.

Any judge that doesn't is an absolute idiot, and doesn't deserve to judge.
Either play the map, and know that its' worth getting into the pack, or get out. I'm sure we can find a replacement.

Okay.
The judges will play through the map enough to know that it is good. That WILL usually mean AGDing it, but of course whether they do or not is up to them. After all, we can't exactly force them to AGD 500 maps, because that'd just be horrible. If it's a difficult AGD, then no, they won't have to do it. Preferably the playtesters would get an AGD on a map before saying it was good.
As for judging, five judges are confirmed as of this morning, so we're well on our way to getting everything rolling smooth.

say, turtle, i remember earlier you wanted to be a judge. you could be a backup judge just in case another one drops out. would you take the position if it became available?
kaos, ordering the levels will be a simple task. if we're going to order them by difficulty, we should have the judges collaborate to order them. maybe we could use a system like the one we used for selecting judges; we could have the judges assemble a prototype list, and submit it to the public. the public would then play through the whole thing and suggest specific changes and swaps (in a whole separate thread).
another issue i thought of. what if one author (let's say a noob author) makes one great map, and then can't come up with any more passing maps? he'd just have one map in the pack. would we put the map in an episode with maps from other people? i would suggest we handle that on a case-by-case basis when we get to the ordering stage.

I don't think people should get their own episodes in the first place. Especially if we order them by difficulty. So yeah, they should be just in there with all the others.

I'm fairly sure they can manage to make more with enough help. They'll benefit from it too.
I helped a friend of mine make his second map ever into a pretty good map. It will take longer. though.
