Which do you prefer?

I personally like code editing, because I just edit the coordinates and I know I'll get it in the spot I want every time (24 units equals 1 tile length, so it's just fractions from there).

I prefer z-snap. Trial and error.

I didn't vote because there should be some kind of 'depends' option, because Z snapping is much faster, but sometimes I need to do things precisely.

Good point. I added the option.

Z-Snap, for us less avid mappers.

I say Z-Snap because it is just easier, especially with the more stable hands (like mine). For the not so stable, then I think code editing would be better.

zsnap feels more artistic and natural
all the way
People write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life

Depends. I use z-snap for curved lines of mines/gold, but code editing when I want to place something in a fraction of a c-snap (usually 1/2 c-snap, so 3 pixels).

Z-snapping for me. I'm still learning simple code editing, and I don't find it as easy anyway.

z-snap, especially with a mouse. It's less time consuming.

Z-snap all the way. I've never had to manually edit any code except for a couple of teleporters and such.

Neither, I seriously doubt I've used z snapping on any of my maps other than that series I made based around those perfectly arcing mine bridges. So not recently, anyways. I'd probably lean towards z snap, just less effort. If I was taking those curves seriously, I'd try code editing but not as a first option.

Go into the text box and change the coordinates. 24 units=1 square (or E-tile length)

Z Snap brings out the artist, code editing brings out the mathematician.
I am the artist.

I don't agree I'm an artist its common for people to think that artists are always spontaneous and use movements to express themselves like impressionists and expressionists and such. But many artists are very precise and use a lot of maths like photographers, printmakers and architects. Code editing brings out the artist and the mathmatician in me (If you don't know what I'm talking about see one of my maps). Not meaning to start an argument just saying I'm very pro code-editing it dosn't make you a robot =)

I'm fairly sure z-snapping is just as accurate as code editing.

1) Line up your mouse so that the crosshair doesn't move when you change from Z-snap to any other snap.
2) Move mouse horizontal and vertical the amount of pixels you want to move the object
3) Stop moving the mouse (for accurate results this step is very important!)
4) Left click.
5) On the mose idiot.
