It's still frowned upon, because it's perceived as being associating gay with bad, and thus being insulting to gay people. By the same token, if I said "that's such an American thing to do" when I meant "that's such a stupid thing to do", Americans might get a bit stroppy... even though I "don't mean it literally".

I think something just needs to be cleared up here: in a situation like this, Arachnid is the only person who can do anything, and it's him you have to email at [email protected] . Contacting any of the moderators will not help.

Also, it's not a case of "having connections" - this is a very tight-knit community, and everyone knows everyone else, so if you feel the need to talk to one of the moderators for any reason, don't be afraid to do it yourself.
