Most of you know that I'm a runner. A while back, on the old forums, I found out that there are a good number of us around, so I started this thread. It got some decent activity before slipping away into the depths of the Off-Topic forum, so I thought I'd start a similar thread here. I'm not sure if I'll set up a leaderboard like I did in the past, but at least we'll have a place to talk track.

Anyway, I'll start. I just finished up my indoor track season with a 1000m in 2:44. That's a great race, the 1000. I like it a lot. Actually, all the indoor-only distances are pretty cool. Now, some downtime before spring. Can't wait. :)

I love sprinting, even if I am not that good. I might do some sprints so that I can post here the times (100m).

I should say I did 1.6 km (a mile) in 6 minutes (I think, can't really remember), that meaning I'm not that good in resistance.

Ugh, I suck at sprinting. Used to do a little long distance, but that's mostly been called off at our school for a while. I once did an inter-school cross-country thing... and came last. But this one guy didn't finish after the first lap (there were three) so that took me out of the limelight :) Besides, it's the participation that counts right?

I quit smoking a few months ago.
If I'm well-rested, I can jog 400 meters before I pass out.

I'm in love with Track and Field. I'm not on any team outside of school, but when the season does come, I like to participate (to bring pride to my school! ;D). I especially love hurdles. With five different schools competing, I got first in my heat, fifth in the final in May 2008. But that's besides the point. I don't quite remember my times, but track season is soonish, so I'll post them when I can (they'll be better anyways).

Just an idea, what if we had something to record the total distance ran by the Metanet community? It would be kind of neat.
Like we could keep count of it up to the kilo/meter? Just a little side project, to bring us together for fun, rather than making it a competition with times.

Sick jokes? How was that sick, even if it was a joke?
I did quit smoking recently. I do run 400 meters a few times a week, before I exercise. I'm usually very out of breath when I'm done.

Drop it. For the love of God. At least use an apostrophe.

Anyway...running always worries me, because I either start to feel lightheaded a couple minutes in or just get completely wiped out by running that should not do so. I'm a good sprinter, though.

I ran cross country a while ago, my best time was 5:56.

Although I haven't really done any running since then, it probably wouldn't go well if I picked it up again.

i'm in cross-country, not track and field, and when i did do track and field, it was throws (esp. shot-put). so i don't have anything to contribute to this thread.

Nothing to contribute? Then don't post. See the logic?

Anyways, I was never really a runner, so I could only gauge relative speeds and such during the fitness tests we had at school. I could run the 100m in about 12 or 13 seconds, and my best shuttle run (beep test) score was 11.4.

yungerkid actually does have something to contribute, as he's a cross-country runner. That's running too, ya know. And field events are still a part of the sport. In the old thread, we had quite a few jumpers. There aren't many of us, so let's try to be as inclusive as possible, shall we?

I love to run, just i'm asthmetic, so i really can run all as much as i can. If i try to sprint a whole mile like i used to be able to, after a few hundred meters now i have to stop and gasp for air for a few minutes esp. if i run as fast as i can. Same goes for swimming ang cycling [/offtopic]

I'm good at long distance and sprinting.
My mom makes me run 2 miles daily in 10 minutes. Go figure.

I think that's alright for most people. I'm unfit as hell and I used to be able to run about 4 km in 13 or 14 minutes.

At the moment I'm training for a mini-triathlon, as it's quite short. I'm hoping to go on and so something more serious in the future.

I'm also quite a keen sprinter; I'm not amazing, but I got third in the hundred metre race, beating about three guys a couple of years older than me.
