Firstly, player_03, TribulatioN, and 999_Springs have earned early aplha/beta versions of the game before it is released. (Not right now, it's just shifting from planning to coding now) for solving at least 3 puzzles.
The basic idea of the game goes something like this:
You are a spring... well actually you are a friendly ninja-protecting ninja mage who swings around a launchpad to protect his ninja from invading drones. Mines will be launched from friendly (and non-friendly) mine drones and will be flying around from off-screen. You will use your launch-pad to launch mines at approaching enemies. Your mage ninja thing is unkillable and does not collide with mines, however certain bosses and enemies can give him a good 'ol zap, stunning him for a second and making him drop his spring. Your goal is to prevent your captured ninja (not the mage you control, the other one you must protect) from being pwned by drones, mines, and bosses. In most levels, the ninja you must protect will be in a bubble or something which you can bounce around. Other times he will be locked to the ground and immovable, forcing you to quickly kill drones (and reflect things back at them when possible) to defend your ninja instead of just bouncing him out of the way. (Actually, you'll likely do that most of the time, only moving the ninja sometimes- there will be achievements for that :D)
There will be 31 levels in the original release (though I may release an xpack or 2) not including the tutorial levels.
10 levels of waves of enemies, then a boss level. Repeat twice.
Then level 31 is the final battle against the Editor (yes, there will be a white X thing that goes around making enemies and walls and stuff)
The planned bosses are: (these are the drones from my comic)
Level 10: Q-88
Level 20: Sergeant Bork
Level 30: Master Drone
Level 31: Neditor
The game will have Achievements as in Xbox (and everything else that copied it) and also a similar thing to Achievements called Epic Failz which are earned by, well, failing in different ways (and will be hidden so you unlock them by accident).
The drones that attack you will be:
Drones from N+
Drones from N+ modified to better work with the game (ex. laser drones will shoot laser bullets which can be reflected by your spring instead of a constant beam)
New Drones.
You can excpect your friends the Thwump and Floorguard to make an appearance, but they MAY be cut. I doubt it though.
Oh yeah, the seeker mines will be enemies (and friends too) for sure.
You will also be able to "buy" upgrades and assistants by salvaging drone parts and gold and bouncing them to your ninja.
The game will be intented for monitors of resolution 1440x900, but it's Flash. You can resize it however you want.
EDIT: A thread will not be posted for the game until it is either completed or very very close to being completed. You can give feedback about the game in this thread if you wish!
Comic Activity-O-Meter: (how often I'm updating my comic)
NOTE: If I just add a bunch of comics in one day, but plan on going back to normal after that, I probably won't update the status.
+ Dead: Canceled. Done. Maybe you'll get a random comic like once a year, but it's pretty much done.
- Zombie (Dead/Comatose): The comic is probably done regular updates forever, but I'll probably still add something once in a blue moon. It's still POSSIBLE, that I'll raise the status up, but not very likely. Maybe I'll have a comicplosion for like a week, then go back to being dead
+ Comatose: Complete stand-by. No (or very few) updates for some amount of time, but the comic's far from being over
- <AFK> (Comatose/Loitering): Stand-by, but you might possibly count on a few updates once and a while. Again, this is temporary
+ Loitering: Like comatose, but for short amount of times.
- Turtling (Loitering/Semi-Active): Really slooooww updates
+ Semi-Active: One every 2 weeks...ish?
- Quasi-Active (Semi-Active/Active): Averaging about 2 comics every 3 weeks
+ Active: Loosely defined status, but about a weekly update
- Over-Active (Active/Power-leveling): About 2 comics a week
+ Power-leveling: About 3 comics a week. Possible a schedule, possibly not
- Über-Epic (Power-leveling/COMICPLOSION!!): In some cases, this may actually be mean updates more frequently than COMICPLOSION!!, but I'm defining this level as a non-organized comic rush, kind of like a few days after my comic started
+ COMICPLOSION!!: Daily updates for a minimum of 5 days (since the daily updates started. It remains at this status until the 5, 7, whatever days are done)

Unbelievable. You totally had no regard towards my half point for puzzle one. Jokes!Exüberance wrote:Congratulations to:

4.75 (bonus points are subject to diminishing returns so that you can only come infinitely close to 1 extra point. Also, points are rounded down.)
Sig tags are on the way! Probably have them sent today. May get sidetracked with other stuff and send them out tomorrow.
*remembers I still owe like 100000 sig tags for caption contest*

Hmm, must've been the tiny text that was hidden in a hidden spoiler.bonus points are subject to diminishing returns so that you can only come infinitely close to 1 extra point. Also, points are rounded down.
Question, is there gonna be any other way to recognise the achievements earned by us fellow puzzle-goers, other than the first post in this thread? Like additional sigtags?

I originally said just bragging rights, but I changed my mind. I'll make little images for each achievement.TribulatioN wrote:Hmm, must've been the tiny text that was hidden in a hidden spoiler.bonus points are subject to diminishing returns so that you can only come infinitely close to 1 extra point. My favourite achievement image is the "Doing it My Way" one. Then maby Specialist? They all at least try to be somewhat funny!

They're a bit big though, so unless you have a small signature, you'll probably have to use a spoiler.

No man, sysadmin or user, denies a man achievements! This is blasphemy! This is madness!
*punted into pit of doom*
It's 210 pixels <_<
I guess I'll work on fixing that... somehow...
O.K. That enough image designing and making for the day. Tomorrow I'll move things closer a few pixels, trim off any excess pixels, possibly remove (or resize) the "Achievement Unlocked" text. I only need to cut off 10 pixels. It will be a bit of a pain doing it for every one, and re-uploading them, but oh well. Kind of useless if you can't put them in your sig. That was their intention.
EDIT: I supppose I could also just cut the image in half, and put 2 image tags together. Restricting image height doesn't actually restrict you at all. Kind of pointless.
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: OR... I wonder what happens if you take an nx200 image, put it in your sig, then change the image to a nx210 image? Heh... it's like pointers, but with HTML. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A JOB FOR (COMPUTER) SCIENCE!!
EDIT: MUHAHAHAHAHA!! It's a hack, but it works! (By hack I mean an inelegant solution) You can put in a small image, then have the source image change to a bigger one. The problem is that you sometimes may need to refresh your cache. Oh... and then you can't edit your signature.... curses, foiled again!

I chose the path of least resistance and simply removed the Achievement Unlocked! text, then moved everything else up and decreased the Puzzle # text size by 1 point. Now the forum no longer throws a fit about image sizes, so you can proudly and merrily add the achievements to your sig and live happily ever after. The end.
(If it still shows up, either hit Ctrl+F5 to update your cache of images or just leave it. Looked better before anyways.)
