New content being on the radio show. I can't be bothered to get into this though, I'll let you guys squabble about it.
So tune in to the goddamn show. The posts themselves have no meaning, especially because people don't keep a constant eye on forums (I should hope not, anyway), so most people are going to be seeing these posts several hours after they've stopped being relevant. I'm all for having him post a schedule, making some subscription service, whatever, but posting like this on a forum is just ridiculous. It's not even a fuzzy issue; it's just stupid.

Oh dear.

I used to do podcasts, and would post them, but the station is under maintenance so I can't record my show.

The schedule and time changes per semester/interterm, so that's why I found it necessary to post when it's on at that very moment.

To be honest, do you really expect anyone here to remember the time of a college internet radio show, especially given how spread out we all are? The time it's on specifically where they are in relation to the West coast gets even fuzzier (it's not like a syndicated program that staggers time between different time zones.) I don't think most users are browsing the 2nd page of this forum at the exact same time that my show is on air.

I post in this thread to tell people online at these forums that the show is on at that moment, fans or not, and if you find that I'm spamming the entire board with one thread that I only post in regards to my show well feel free to put me on ignore or not open the thread.

Take a closer look at the dates of each of the posts.

Okay, new suggestion time:

1) If you can get a set schedule, feel free to post that. If the schedule changes, post that. If the schedule is extremely variable, just edit the first post as soon as you find out when it will be playing. People who are interested -should- be able to check it at least once a week and look forward to it.

OR.

2) Ask for people interested to tell you, and then put them on a list. Each time you want to announce the airing of your show or give them some time in advance, send them a PM. This will both eliminate any spam from the forums, as well as ensure that everyone interested will find out, because they should get an email as well as a giant message on the top of the forums.

Suggestion 2 is actually a really good idea. I'm not sure why we didn't think of that before. >_>

This is entirely ridiculous. One-two posts a week can hardly be called spam, and while it may be "advertising," Myrrhman is an established member of the N community and I like hearing about member projects. If you want to tell people to stop spamming, pop into the Fun & Games forum. A PM list for reminders is probably a good idea, but I'm going to open this thread up for actual discussion of the radio show. There's no reason for it to be closed.

And to counteract the horrible, horrible spam problem running rampant in this thread, I'll be deducting the following from postcounts for off-topic and content-less posts: Myrrhman: 7, SlappyMcGee: 3, Tsukatu: 4

It's on tonight, missed last week.

Theme: 60's/70's singer-songwriters.

it's one of my favorite's put together.

I'm posting this update because I only know of two people on the list for the PM updates so it's also a reminder to just tell me if you want to receive the updates.

P.S. Thanks LV.

I've only ever heard two of these broadcasts, and it makes me extremely sad. The timeslot for me just, somehow, happens to be full every time you're on.

So can I bump this still if I'm going on?

It's been two weeks since my last show, so I think this should qualify as a worthy notification.

On in 30 minutes. That's 8 PM PST
