You should have used a radial gradient to capture more of the center of the image. Instead of my eye being drawn to the hand and the middle of the math problem, my eye is drawn to that bright center area where the gradient overlay was pure white.GTM wrote:Okay, I've made Minion_of_Pi a signature. It's sorta black and white, but I've included colour in the hand and nails to strike a cool contrast. I'm not completely sure about it, but I think it's the best I could do, for now. No checkerboard :P
I do like the position of the text though. :D
Also, for superpok's, it would have helped if you had curved the end of the text to match the line of the leaf that it follows. That's more of a clarification of what I meant when I told you to look for lines and have the text follow them (as in, following them as the lines are drawn and not just tilting the text toward the general direction that the line goes).

Okay, I've tried to recreate the same thing (saving error left the original uneditable :/) but with a radial blur. Pick which ever one you want.

I really like the one you just made for jack ass.
I'd like one with that same sort of background sort of technicolor splotches.
Also I really love skiing and i see that you're quite good at including figures in your sigs.
Have little particles of snow flying up everywhere.
So could you have this skier in there and have it say "Nph".
Pretty much whatever you come up with I'll be happy with. Just have it be the regular size.

You can have my SOTW sig whether it wins or not, if you want. The theme is maths as well, so that's convenient. Other demand added to the list.Minion_of_Pi wrote:Okay, I like the sig, but it seems just kindof weird to have just a hand. Could you do some editing and make it look as if it's not a picture, but drawn? As in, kinda smudgy maybe, just to look like a drawing, not a photograph.
Thanks!

Whoops, typo. Complex typo. I probably just didn't want to put if twice within four words and didn't realise what I was putting. Fix'd. Also, I've finished off Boonie's sig. Not entirely sure about it, but I liked the stock enough to justify a look-see.Manus Australis wrote:Who ever said your sig is going to win?GTM wrote:You can have my SOTW sig when it wins, if you want. He's right. The border seems and extended portion of the main sig itself. Use a darker color, and when in doubt, use black. Black can never go wrong.aapse wrote:i do not like the border in that one.

See what I did here? To compliment the image better, I cleverly labeled where the aperture of the camera is.
Not only does it look stylish, it's a really small thing that made the image a whole lot better. The text you placed, GTM, was not only large and kinda ugly (though the blur effect to tie in with the rest of the image was good), it didn't even follow the line of the bottom of the camera exactly!
I also made another version where I had one letter of "aperture" in a different layer and then went about rotating each single piece of text slightly so that it followed the curve around the camera lens.
I was also going to label the camera with "aperture" but have the letters be upside-down and place it between those two round parts on the face of the camera.
There are a lot of things you can do with text, I just think that telling you what you could do wouldn't be quite as helpful as if I just showed you.
