fuck yes i like metal. im a fat emo who enjoys angry music, not deathcore or anything like job for a cowboy, but anything heavy and distorted turns me on.
bfmv, inflames, as i lay dying, escape the fate, god forbid, soad, the used (if they count <<) some slipknot, mudvayne, killswitch engage, KORN (why havnt they been mentioned yet besides that huge list?) parkway drive, disturbed (a tad commercial at times) , tool, oh yeah..
i listen to a lot of other stuff too (techno, classical, normal rock, softer emo stuff, electronica, whatever) but im an emo metalhead by nature at the moment.

The MJOLNIR mix rules, and i wish i could've seen parkway drive. also: i saw bullet for my valentine live at the big day out. it was extreme. matt tuck is sexy.

Sigh. It's Big Day Out, not 'the' Big Day Out.

I enjoy metal. My favourite album of last year was Textures' Silhouettes, and Meshuggah's obZen was up there too. I tend to prefer Technical Death over other sub genres, but there isn't really one where I can say I enjoy it even partially unconditionally. So I'll just list a few bands.

Battle of Mice, Between the Buried and Me, Boris, Coheed and Cambria, Devin Townsend, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Dream Theater, Earth, Emperor, Enslaved, In Flames, Kayo Dot, Machine Head, maudlin of the Well, Meshuggah, Moonsorrow, Opeth, Planet X, Protest the Hero, Textures, Tool, Ulver, Watchtower, Wolves in the Throne Room.

I liked Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and Kill 'Em All more than AJFA.

Second. Kill 'Em All and MoP are pretty much the best things ever. I don't know which I like more.

I like al of those and the songs within them, but i must say that i like the songs on ...AJFA more than the other ones, mostly because the other ones are more thrash oriented, and i mostly like prog metal more than the extreme genres, not that i don't like them.

I've actually heard this opinion from my best friend. His fave is AJFA. I like Death Magnetic more than that one. :/

I have got both albums and they are both great but in my opinion, An Ocean Between Us, is far superior. It is just awesome.

On the topic of Metallica and their thrash metal albums, I order them this way:

Master of Puppets
Ride the Lightning
Death Magnetic
Kill'em All
... And Justice for All

If there were points, difference between MOP and AJFA would be 0.2 points, tough; they're all just awesome.

While we're on this thread, we're not allowed to talk of any Metallica albums between after the Black Album to before Death Magnetic.

Dave Mustaine, Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammet are the uncontested GODS OF METAL.

Dave is on there because he wrote a lot of the K'EA and RTL tracks...

What? No Bass love? Cliff Burton is a G'damn GENIUS. Anasthesia- Pulling Teeth is an accomplishment in bass. Follow that up with a Jason Newsted-sandwich, who brought an entirely different (albeit worse. :/) style to the band, which is noteworthy in itself. And now Rob Trujillio? I'm sad you didn't mention them.

You guys really like As I lay Dying that much? I'm going to a concert with em and Im way more excited about Lamb of God and Children of Bodom than Dying. ><

Opeth
Agalloch
At the Gates
Baroness
Dethklok :D
Protest the Hero
Gojira
Mastodon
Machine Head
Tool

Metallica has good songs, you just have to keep to their first four releases, they're all amazing metal albums.

There's way more bands but I gotta go now.

I saw a show with AILD, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Mastodon, and Slayer. Everyone one of them were excellent except Lamb of God, who were drunk, and shitty and boring, and I stopped listening to them.

Yes I Do :P

AILD are amazing imo. One of the best metal bands ever.

And Children of bodom are also awesome but they're songs aren't consistently good for me. One of my favourite COB song would probably be 'Living dead beat'. That is really good.
