Although I doubt consistency (can't make much of a movie as it is) but still looks pretty awesome. Also, I love the music in the trailer. Anyone going to see it?

[zissou]Absolutely excited for this film. Wake Up by The Arcade Fire -is- an awesome song for the trailer. AND in the hands of Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, That Weezer Music Video You Really Like), what can go wrong?[/zissou]

It sounds awesome though. Great book, so hopefully great movie.

Also, what's with the hats...

First trailer in a loooong time that's actually made me smile. Really looking forward to this. I suggest anyone who hadn't read the book to go fall in love with it immediately!

The new version of Wake Up sounds great too, it was recorded specifically for the trailer so should be on the soundtrack.

After reading through Wikipedia about Where The Wild Things Are and Maurice Sendak, it turns out that Maurice adapted his book to be a play. So if things turn out right, I assume that this movie is being adapted from the play and that it will actually be really good because it will be mostly Sendak's idea.

This in itself makes me extremely excited.

I'm not excited for this movie. When I was little, I loved this book, and my mom would read it to me all of the time. I just hate it when someone gets the idea to make a movie out of a children's book 20 pages long, max. They have to come up with an hour and a half of filler to make it a movie, and end up changing everything from the story except how the characters look.

I'm reviving this thread to tell you all that I went to the theater the other day and the trailer for this was the last one they showed before the movie started and I was tearing up a little bit.

I have a feeling this movie is going to make me cry. ;_;

That little kid is adorable. Had to say it. Anyway, I really, really love that book, and I always will. Not sure the movie will have enough substance to it, but Spike Jonze is a genius. We'll see.

It's really too bad this isn't Charlie Kaufman penned.

That being said, what's with directors of quirk doing weird animation projects? Here's looking at you, Wes Anderson.

I read the graphic novel Coraline today, and that got me just as good. Anyone seen that movie yet?

Just saw the trailer for the first time. I liked the book when I was little.

At first I was "wtf." Then after I let it sink in, I began to think how awesome it could actually be. Looks fantastic now.

I've done both, and they're both wonderful. Reminds you why Harry Selick is the genius behind Nightmare and not Burton.
