70% of all maps I see submitted these days are crap. Maybe 5 minute maps at the most.
Only a few of the mediocre or better maps actually get comments, and even less, rates.
A lot of the former great mapmakers have left. NUMA has been overrun by amateurs.
A lot of these amateurs tend to flood the Hot Maps page, and push decent maps off the page, because they don't know how to read the fncking rules.
Some of the better mapmakers left are: Riobe, Destiny, Radium, Atob, GTM, AMLT, Blackson, Gloomp, PALEMOON, Eganic, and one of new favorite mapmakers, Slick265. I know there's probably some more, but that's all I can think of for now.
Why/How/When did this happen.
NUMA is dead.

Gahahahaha. You silly plebeians. NUMA is hardly worse today than when I joined it. If there's still a single person submitting maps to NUMA, it's quite alive. NUMA stands for N User Map Archive.

I clicked on this thread expecting to enjoy a satirical post a la gloomp's from a while ago, but I was disappointed. Regardless of whether NUMA has a pulse, a thread like this won't solve anything. Many have tried, but time and again it is proven that negativity does not work. Try to be less reactive and more proactive, and other such cliches. If people try to make NUMA better rather than complain about how it's getting worse, you'll probably see the improvement you're looking for.

NUMA is alive. What you've described seems to be a walking zombie, which it is not.

Haha, your list seems full of newbie's as far as I can tell.
NUMA isn't dead, you're just not looking hard enough for the maps you want to see. The thing that really baffles is me, is that there is a link for the next 10 maps on the hot maps page, yet a rather terrific number of users seem not to use it. Maybe if people were more keen about rating and commenting maps outside the most recent 10 submitted everything would run a great deal smoother.
(All of this is based on personal experience...usually, once my maps have drifted outside of the top 10 on hotmaps, I receive between 0 and 2 comments. However, these are usually the most interesting/useful/exciting comments.)

Dude, get with the times. NUMA has been "dead" for years. And I'm fairly sure it's "died" again at least two or three times in the last two months. Guess it has a coffin with a rotating lid.

Man, get with the times; it's been dead for years, and only then was it in fashion!

QFE. I haven't even been here a year yet (I don't think) and it's already died three or four times. I'm still enjoying it.Blackson wrote:Man, get with the times; it's been dead for years, and only then was it in fashion!

Didn't we have a similar thread a few weeks ago?
Besides, NUMA has been dead for years. Older members leave with new ones to replace them. Obviously people are going to leave because they have more important things to do. Have you not gotten this through your brain yet?
