IRC Move

Hey guys. Just to let you know, I've engineered an IRC move. I decided we'd been relying on the kindness of dan at WayPastEleven for too long. We weren't paying him anything for the main use of his server, and he wasn't really involved in the community at all, which I didn't feel completely comfortable with. Nothing against the guy, but I think it'd be nice to finally have our own Metanet run IRC server. We've got Vent, and the forums, why not the IRC?

So I shelled out and bought and set up some IRC shiznat. And it's all up!

Go to irc.mountai.net or just mountai.net and register your nick or whatever, as pretty soon everyone who was on WayPastEleven will be there! Register any channels you might have had, and come talk to me, LV, or Calcy if you come across any problems!

That's /server irc.mountai.net .

i've tried multiple times to get there using multiple methods. www.irc.mountai.net, www.mountai.net, irc.mountai.net, and mountai.net dont work for some reason.

could i have a link?

Me too. At times, /server mountai.net works, but I can't use that for connecting at startup. And /server mountai.net is the only variation that works, and it only works half of the time. I really need some help here, because I'm getting pissed off.
EDIT: Oh, and I've got X-Chat Aqua.

Anyone having problems, contact someone currently connected to the server for the direct IP. That should get you in. I'm guessing your ISP just hasn't updated its DNS yet. If you're still having problems contact me then at [email protected] .

Also, if you haven't already, you should configure therealn.com's DNS to link irc.therealn.com to the new server. Then it would at least be pseudo-official.

Erm, this isn't a The Real N venture. Nothing against those guys but I've done this myself for Metanet and I don't want to just lump it under someone else's project. It's just as official as if it were there. :/

Oh, and Bionic, you need to get an IRC program, such as mIRC, XChat, Chatzilla, or use a web-based interface such as Mibbit, to connect to IRC. There's a tutorial of sorts in Slappy's How to Get on the IRC and Vent topic or whatever it's called.

Oh... I was confused, I thought the new server was just some random server that you chose to move to. Then I remembered that you own mountai.net. Sorry.
