Okay i downloaded Nreality because I saw 100 extra episodes! Woot woot! Before I reformatted my PC I had 11 episodes left, so I thought that this would be a good idea in case I beat the original game pretty fast.
My question is, is this download more like a patch, in that it will combine with my current N game, or can I extract this into a separate folder and it will act as a stand alone application?
I like original N and love its editor, and am not sure if I want to have a permanent add on that I can't retract from.
Sorry if I misread something in the other thread, or this question has been asked before. I totally missed this game!

It's not a patch, it's a standalone program, but it's been designed so that it automatically uses the save file (called the .sol file) from the original N. That is, if you have 11 episodes left in N, you'll have 11 episodes + 100 new ones left in Nreality.
It's been a while since I installed it, so I don't really remember the specifics. Go ahead and download it, I'm pretty sure everything you need's in the readme.
As an aside, though, you should keep a backup of your .sol just in case anything happens. Not just with Nreality, but in general.

You can extract it to a separate folder.
If the file path contain non-english letters (e.g. chinese windows desktop path contains non-english characters), you may need to extract the NReality folder to c:/

Just made a back up of the .sol now (after half an hour searching for it! LOL) so i'm going to extract the file now and give it a test.
Thanks guys, appreciate the info!

It's pretty simple. There is alot of optional stuff that can get complicated (like finding a .sol) ... however NReality is basically plug 'n' play.
