You'd be suprised what I could put together. I say you give it a shot anyway!bobaga_fett wrote:I cannot play any of the previously listed instruments. I beatbox as a hobby (although I think my skill level is relatively low) and as well as manualism (hand-farting). But I don't think these are the approproate "instruments" for your orchestra.

Oboe - Grade 5, taking grade 6 in about a month
Piano - Grade 6, taking grade 7 sometime next year. However, I think I play at a higher standard than my grade. Definitely my strongest instrument, if that's any help.
Guitar - I got my guitar two and a half years ago, but I only properly started properly playing this year (and maybe a bit last year). I have lessons, but I only started them two months or so ago. However I will play riffs or stuff if needed :)
@cheesemonger, grade 7 tuba? Nice job, man.

Thanks to furry for this awesome sig. He likes birds, he does.

This is why the viola beats the crap out of any existing violin/violinistCalcy wrote:I'm glad this is starting up again, since I will have loads of free time next semester to spend on other things like this.
Anyways, I play the violin and viola pretty well, and I'm a fairly decent sight-reader. I started off on violin 12 or so years ago, and switched to viola 4-5 years ago after my high school orchestra director realized we had a terrible viola section. Of course, that's when I realized violas sounded better than violins. I still have both instruments though.
I have been playing for 4 years and I'm crap.
There's alot of guitars and pianos here.

Orange- N cannot be spoken, or even thought about in my household. If my parents ever found out that I have played N since the cleansing, my life would be ruined. I keep the game in a multi-passworded .rar on a USB flash drive inside a locked boron alloy container that requires two keys to open (I keep one under the 64th hammer in my piano, and the other one in a small section of removable ceiling in the corner of the attic) hidden in a wall compartment lined with aluminium foil to prevent sonar detection behind my 375 kg cupboard, which is bolted to the floor - the only way to reach it is to abseil outside the fourth floor window and use a screwdriver to unfasten the screws holding the secret brick in place on the opposite side of the wall, but the screwdriver must be a specific type like the one I own, since if any other screwdriver comes into contact with the screws, the entire building will explode, as will a seperate charge placed inside the boron alloy container, rendering the USB useless. Even once the container is retrieved, attemping to open it without the arming pin in place (which is kept inside the battery compartment of my Maglite) will cause the water reservoirs lining the container to burst and react with the caesium lining, causing the container to burst into flames - the only way to prevent this is to use the arming pins to shut off the reservoirs with a sliding steel door. The USB itself contains an accelerometer linked to an explosive charge, meaning that if the USB detects its own movement speed as being greater than 5 cm/s, it will explode - any person attempting to steal it would have to move at a uselessly slow speed. Once plugged into a computer, the USB will upload a ghost virus onto it, leaving no traces. Only the right password can deactivate this virus, and if it is left on the computer for more than six hours, it will format all drives.
As you can see, I take my N playing very seriously.
Guiseppi- I'd much rather watch animals get boned in the ass.
Yanni- If it's glad, it's not rape.
Tsukatu- I refuse to use throw-away bags for such a frequent purpose as buying groceries. Instead, I've collected the hair of my two pet dogs and have woven them together into an all-natural, 100% environmentally friendly bag that I bring with me everywhere. And when I buy products that come in glass and plastic containers, I track down the company that packages them and ship back their containers so that they don't take up space in landfills.
Yeah, I use plastic.
Tsukatu- I hear Ebony Online is great, too. Cum save your princess, my lord!
Ska- UR MUM LIKE IS SPICY
Ska- why d i get the feeling what i typed will end up in the quote depository; or worse: someone's sig.
KinGAleX- I did it on the couch a little while ago.
Zeph- I got too pissed at the knife in the end so I just broke the wood on my knee

I started playing acoustic guitar, (WITH MY FUCKING MIND ON A FUCKING ELECTRO-BASS) in the middle of January of this year. I'll make a sample of what I can do (minimal stuff, mostly with chords).
I can play the recorder "quite well". I can improvise with it and I have a little bit of that capacity some have that is to hear a song and then "transport" it to the recorder, with no other helps (I am aware that this huge amount of words weren't necessary for this :/). Like, I LOVE TO PLAY MUTE CITY FROM CAPTAIN FALCON ON IT.
I'm going to a music school this year (dunno how can I enter it and if I can enter it with my age, I should have entered, like, 5 years ago according to them) and I want to learn how to play bass. Dunno if it'll be possible, as I still don't have a bass. If not, I'll learn how to play guitar firstly, and then go TO THE BASS TO PLAY TUXEDOMOOOOOON.
Someday I'll post samples of both!

I'd like to make it most clear that I don't want this to be only about users' music (least of all mine), however it would be cool if we could record a few peices by users.
The video is here. If you guys playing Trumpet, French Horn, Tuba and Drums think it would be fun to play, please send a PM or something and I'll get the music out as soon as I fix my computer.
Lenny

Also, kablamo and I might be able to submit some remixes etc if you want. We haven't started yet; does it need to be in by a certain time?

Oh, no. I was picturing this as being an ongoing project, so there'll be no real start or end, just little projects along the way.esay wrote:We haven't started yet; does it need to be in by a certain time?
If you want to do some remixes, go ahead. Just make sure you update here once you're done.

Firstly, if all of you guys could get in on the new forums, that would be great. I know I haven't been around anywhere near as much as I should have, but my computer's broken and I haven't been able to get online half as much as normal.
Secondly, I thought I might try and kick-start this project with some of my own music, so I was wondering if any violinists and pianists would be interested in playing an old piece that I wrote for George. A synth mp3 can be found here - I'm fairly sure that I never uploaded the violin and piano version, but the sheet music is identical.
Alternatively, there was also a really simple Saxophone (and Piano) piece that I wrote for TB007 (unfortunately I don't have it uploaded, but can do so on request), so some of you guys might be interested in playing that.
That's about all from me now. If you're interested in playing either of those two pieces then please reply here or chuck me a PM.
Thanks,
Lenny
