My music tastes are quite broad. Recently, it's been:

System of a Down
Nightwish
Skillet
The Foxy Shazam (the music video for Dangerous Man is amusing)
Stop, Drop 'N Skank (a relatively local band)
Kaiser Chiefs
Franz Ferdinand

And some random techno stuff like Scarf, Klubbingman, Accuface, Newton, and Daft Punk.

Franz and Daft Punk are, indeed, very cool.
I am getting back into Cassius, lately.

Being the complete opposite of my peers; practically anything that includes an orchestra.

Specific bands that I'm "diggin'" right now would be Pink Floyd (mainly because I perform some of their songs from time-to-time, i.e. Another Brick in the Wall, part 2), and Crush 40.

And I loathe Dizzy Rascal, or whatever he's called. I'm sorry if there's any fans of his out there, but in my opinion it's just complete and utter rubbish. How is music just speaking to a beat? And where's that sense of purpose?

Ironic I say that seeing as Progressive Rock is usually about complete fantasy and not ment to make sense.

The specific album I'm loving the most though is The Wall. Absolute genius. One of the best Operas ever written.

Okay.

Still don't like it, however.

Oh, if you don't like it, that's fine. I thought you were trying to say that rap or hip-hop is inherently inferior to rock which is, like, not correct and so shouldn't be said. But if you just can't appreciate it, that something different and, while being a little sad, is still acceptable.

I heard Nirvana's "The Man Who Sold the World" on the radio the other day.

Then I had a dream I downloaded the song... hm...

Well, Blur's "Song 2" is pretty cool. :]

But it is inferior!

Nah. Only joking. It's just not my taste of music, really. My stuffs mainly about melody and harmony, of which I find is often lacking in this sort of music.

We had that come up in our GCSE Music exam, having to answer questions on it. Awesome times...

Thy Catafalque's "Róka hasa rádió". Eastern European folk melodies, hardcore breakbeats, solo piano pieces all wrapped up in a black metal bubble. It's delicious.

Borealis, you just introduced me to a new good band. Thanks. Although I dislike their clean vocals.

I recently heard a Young Jeezy song that I thought was pretty good, "My President is Black", and so now I'm listening to Young Jeezy. He's fairly good. When you can hear what he's saying.

Incidentally, this band is also better live then on a live CD. *shrug*.

Just came back from Vegas. On the car ride there and back, I got to listen to some albums I had yet to hear.

Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes Just fantastic. When White Winter Hymnal was playing, I had goosebumps. Must listen.
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend This one was awesome. These guys have their one signature style. Never made me wanna press Next.
Cut Copy - In Ghost Colors I wanted to like this one. I couldn't. Felt a little generic, in my opinion.
Deerhunter - Microcastle Much better than Cryptograms.
No Age - Nouns Really didn't dig this one.
Hercules and Love Affair - Hercules and Love Affair Love it. Love it. Love it. Love it.
Common - Universal Mind Control Meh. I like his earlier work much more.

You're probably thinking for some, "Zomg, Pitchfork's faves!" Well yes, that's why I wanted to give them a listen. I don't agree with some of his opinions but a few of these albums have some amazing works on them.

Techno: Here's what's wrong with your evaluation:

-Pitchfork is not a he.
-Vampire Weekend was so last year. Which is to say, it sucks.
-No Age is the tillnits.
