Whoah, tone misjudge! I totally agreed with maesto. And I love maestro, i'm gonna go post that in the love thread.

Mintnut, who do Oasis rip off? (/question)

Oh, hey, I did totally misjudge that. Sorry.

Probably the band that the 'britpop' sound was most derived from was Ride - I certainly hear it, especially in the songs with more of a pop sensibility, like Vapour Trail (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q98M67lg0kk).

--In my neverending quest to find new music, I listened to 'Champagne Supernova', by Oasis, and was not impressed. Shall find more.
--Also, Jet? Bon Jovi? Neither is Britpop (based on my limited knowledge of what that is), and neither is "indie". Neither is good, but that's beside the point.
--Must say I agree with mintnut's assessment of Oasis. Lead singer sounds a bit whiny.
--Also, Coldplay is not indie.

A lot in this thread made me angry/amused/confused.

When?

I'm pretty sure the only way to classify the man with the menopause bouffant would be stadium rock, or something.

If you can't get on with Liam's voice, then go for the stuff that Noel sings. Try the following songs:

The Masterplan
Half The World Away
Sad Song
Talk Tonight

You should also watch Oasis unplugged as it's performed entirely by Noel (Liam had a throat infection) and contains all of the above (I think).

Also try the B-Sides album The Masterplan, contains some of Noels best.

Listen to atob: he speaks words of wisdom. I must admit, I prefer Noel's singing to Liam's. My fave is Going Nowhere, also on The Masterplan, so I'd add that to the list of recommendations.

atob, good call. You were quite right. Anyway, while on Youtube, I found this, which I imagine you fans have already seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX5JBsKi ... re=related

About the 1:25 mark. Pretty amusing.

EDIT: Look at the angry band member going after the attacker afterward.
