theres some ass submitting a map every second on numa, he must have written some kind of program but the point is someone has to ban him quick... hes submitted over 450 maps in like 10 minutes....

Yeah! I just wanted to write about this. It's epic, seriously. Something like when someone (don't remember who, really) posted 100+ comments on a map. Although I have a map submitted recently that disappeared from first pages, this kind of events happen rare.
Edit: This is a proof that we need map cap (I think that's how it's called). And, for the record, the user is bumajan.
Edit 2: He stopped submitting "maps".
Edit 3: Accordingly it's Calcy, and it's also quite possible this is a bug.

Dickweed posted 725 maps within a minute. That deserves some respect, in the way you have to respect Hitler for his power, but still think that he's a douchebag bacause of it.

That was interesting.
I log onto NUMA for the first time in a month... well a little more than a month, and what should I see? But an massive map spamming spree!
What bothers me is that anyone with even a tiny bit of experience in programming or at least a little scripting can easily make a program to do this and not be auto-banned. I think that the information contained for each user should be extended to include a set of dates (64-bit of course to prevent epic failing in 2038 :D) that the last maps were posted at. If the last few maps were posted too close together, the user is temporarilly banned from posting new maps while the moderators look into it.
EDIT: Or it could just check to see if you have 2 maps on the hot maps list. If you do, it fails to add the map to NUMA and returns an error message saying "Stop spamming nubcake"... only nicer.... maybe.
I do like how moderators/administrators/whoever were/was able to fire a doom cannon and instantly (or close enough) destroy all the spammed maps. Otherwise that would've been one big mess to clean.

EdoI said something about it possibly being Calcy. I was just commenting on that and laughed because from what I can understand (and which is even more confirmed for me by Dave's recent posts) is that the person in question just wanted to get 174000 and happened to continue posting for about 270 maps afterward. I don't know if they were banned at that point or what happened. If there were *any* argument to why we should have a map-submission limit, this is it. I move that we implement a limit that is less strict than two per-week, but more strict than five per day. I'm not sure why we wouldn't have this limit at this point, particularly for new users (Below Ten / fifty Maps).

I think five to ten map subs a day would work out.
The only reason that this failed was because it was five map subs every second. The problem here is not really a human issue, it's an issue with website vulnerability. If a system could be instituted to stop that buja dude's sort of behavior, but allow every other mapper to notice no change to the maintenance of the site, I'd be all for it.
Oh, and IP controls / IP bans for NUMA's admins. =D
