The idea of posting a notice a few days or weeks beforehand in an attempt to have a large IRC mafia session has long been debated, and I think it was even tried once on the old forums, and if that's the case we're bringing it back. Check this topic for upcoming games and try to make it, you won't be dissapointed.

Next upcoming session July 24 8:00PM EST Time: http://tinyurl.com/mafiatime

This next one will most likely be hosted by Zilla, I probably won't be there.

Session Overview

July 22
First one was far from a success, which I kinda expected as it was in the middle of the day for most people. Next one is scheduled for Friday night so we should have a better outcome. Here's a screencap of what happened:

<smartalco> man, you have just been accelerated to a whole new level of awesome, raven
<Luminaflare> In my opinion all of life's problems can be solved with missiles, if the problem isn't solved you're not using enough missiles.

Raven, I would like to ask you to log the game(s) for me. If you can't be bothered, let Zilla oversee the game with you (i.e give him access to the mafia channel, and ops if you want), so he can log it. I want to see what happened of this event, as I'm thinking about something bigger. It's a secret though :)

To everyone who will play, I am very sorry I will not be able to attend, but, I really need to get this stuff outta the way.

I will most definitely be there to play/log/GM (If Ravenclaw needs a break, that is. It can get tiring!). Should be most excellent.

And the something bigger is a great secret. You should all show so you can learn it someday. ;)

I won't be happy with any fewer than 25 players.

I totally just read that as, "I'd hate to be the only black guy stuck using v1.4."

I know Ravenclaw has already updated the original post, but just to reiterate, next session will be this Friday at 8:00 PM EST, so hopefully more of you will be able to play. I guess I'll be runnin' things, so try and make it! Hopefully this one will work better.

That was disappointing. Gloomp and I dominated the game as mafia. The enormous 7 player game. It was smaller than any unplanned game I had played.

Could you at some point consider scheduling a game at a time that's even marginally acceptable for anyone in Australia?

Define "marginally acceptable". Australia is 12-14 hours ahead of my time zone, so unless you're looking for morning/night games, that falls to TS (or Ravenclaw, although I'm not sure what his time zone actually is).

Before 3 AM would be good. I don't mean to be a dick, I recognise it's impossible to pick a time that works for everyone.

Okay, here it goes. I want to get a reasonably sized mafia game running. I was thinking about a game around 10-11 PM EST, today. If it's not a good hour at all, well, I'm up for discussing, as I can pretty much host at any time of the day.

Oh, and if you guys want it another day, it's all great for me. I just want to have a massive mafia game :D

I should be around for the next 10 hours, so sure.

Another possible idea is to get people playing over the forum, and have days and nights running for 3 days each. We used to do that on my school forum, and it worked really well. It's just a bit of a pain to manage.

I don't like that. If it was a forum-wide thing, and each day took three days, the game would never end.

Ahahahaha, go check out metanet.2.forumer.com we have quite a few forum games there, although a day was a day.
