This is just a draft. I'll make a list of people who would like to be a moderator, then put it in a poll (thanks to ChaoStar for this idea). So, want to be a moderator? Just drop a post and then I'll add you to the list. Once we get twenty, I'll put it in a poll. There are some prerequisites.

Prerequisites:

1. You must been in the community a considerable time (a year or so)
2. You must be a well respected community member who would be trusted with power.

Since it's my topic, they're my rules. This is by no means final. Just to see the most popular choice.

Moderator hopefuls:

1. ChaoStar
2. Shenanigan
3. MattKestrel
4. Sidke
5. RadiumFalcon
6.
7.
8.
9.

Why aren't I there!?

I've been there longer then Skypanda and GTM. And possibly others, such as Toasters...I didn't check others.

I feel forgotten. ;.;

Hmm. I don't think any of 29403, Techno, fotf, heatwave, LT, George, pheidi, shortshift, skypanda or wuflgang are that active on NUMA compared to the others. Also, many of these people probably don't want to be a moderator anyway.

i doubt anyone would believe this, but i still think i'd make one hell of a law enforcer on numa. i'm on quite a bit and you all know how pissed i get when kablizzy spams.

anywho, from that list, Mattkestrel, 29403, and T3chno are my choices.

it seems to me that Losttortuga makes a point of rarely commenting on maps. maybe its just my fan-girliness that puts him off, but nonetheless, he seems pretty inactive.

is George still active on Numa? i dont know hardly anything about him since i've only seen him a handful of times.

PALEMOON would find someway to misuse it for attention and everyone would be like "ahahahaha you're so funny and popular omg lol" and it would go unnoticed.

Getting pissed is not good. You have to learn how to take it in stride, and calmly restore order.

I bet most of the people don't want to be moderator. I asked PM, and he didn't want to be one. same wih Toasters.

I think you should have people ask to be on the list, and then have a poll. or pool. I, for one, would love to be a mod on NUMA. I'm pretty active, if not only browsing.

I don't know ChaoStar all that well, so I couldn't make a value judgement of whether he would be good for the position or not.

These are the people on that list that I would consider for moderator. They are the only people I know who do not get upset over little things; who would know when it was appropriate to jump on the bandwagon, but would recognize when it's time to tell everyone to get off. (Maybe not Techno so much, but he has moderator experience, as does gloomp.)
A lot of the people on the list are either too inactive or their behaviour (from what I've seen) doesn't suit the moderator role.

Personally I don't think we need another moderator just yet.

Well i get pissed that he spams and i can do absolutely nothing about it. if i were a mod i would just delete the comment and say "dont spam etc".

Yeah, eganic, you'd do really well... when you get your account back. Unfortunately, that's why I'm not volunteering. It'd be worth it to see the expression on pawz' face if I got picked.

The new moderator spot isn't open to anyone who can win a popularity contest. You guys can post here and poll around in incoherence, but please understand that it won't help your case. In the end, it's up to Southpaw.

Edit:

Now that you say that, I agree. The queue never gets out of handl, and things seem to be under control. Well, things that we can do something about. I'm still trying to get arachnid to give moderators the ability to temporarily ban spammers and the like.

Oh man, I would make such an awesome moderator.
I'd be delisting and deleting comments left and right all up and down the hot maps page.
Also, pawz, I love you.

Where do I stand on this potential new mod list?

Yeah, PALEMOON's on enough to play a good sentry, but I honestly believe that he/she will abuse it in some way. =/

Anyways, I'm on pretty often and like to have peace on NUMA, and have been a member for approx 10 months. The only flaw I could see with hiring me is that tend to bias my opinion in most cases. =\

Wait, wait, wait. Does anyone else find it hilarious that this is coming from a guy who has been registered on the forums less then a week and submitted his first map to NUMA just a week ago?
Since it's my topic, they're my rules. This is by no means final. Just to see the most popular choice.

I 100% agree with this.

NUMA doesn't have all that many rule-breakers. There's the occasional troll, but that eventually gets settled fast. There's really not a whole bunch goin' around that's particularly going to hurt the community if we don't have another moderator.
