My first thought about the threadstarter was 'where was the initial demand for a new mod?' Seems odd to start asking who should be next in line out of the blue when things are running ok as they are.

The same could be said about people that take things on the internet way too seriously. And don't try and deny it, as your replies have clearly been quite aggressive and defensive.

There is no demand for a new moderator and if there was I would probably ask a few key people rather than the whole community about who to promote. This thread is incredibly off topic now and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere new.
