Seeing as we're studying 20th century music at school, I've really been getting into some of the things we've been listening to. Pity we're not up to Jazz yet, but oh well.
Quartet for the end of Time - Olivier Messiaen. I like parts 2, 6 and 8 especially.
Piano Phase - Steve Reich. Great "thinking" music, because you're almost certain to wander off on long tangental thoughts, which is quite helpful sometimes.
Also, along this line, check out the Kronos Quartet - more specifically, Berg's Lyric Suite.

Also, I've really been enjoying the soundtracks to Stardust, Treasure Planet, and The Incredibles. As well as Bond's album, "Classified", which features several notable remixes of very good pieces.

I strongly recommend looking up these pieces and soundtracks if you have free time. If for no other reason than to broaden your horizons of what music is, in the case of the 20th century pieces (additionally, look at 4'33" - John Cage).
