Well the who's who setup is in hierachy so it's possible to sort out people.
i.e
Looking at maps
Looking at profile
Looking at Home
(dunno why that is interesting)
But you could also take some of the grand tags to sort by
Action
Race
DDA
Misc
I've made maps for this one

Just a list of the people logged on at the moment would be good enough. We don't need a comprehensive breakdown of what every person is doing.

Southpaw, If you just want to try to make your own design, I could post it to Arachnid. With your credit, of course.

Nah, I think "setting it up kinda like how the Who's Who section is. (Avatars and usernames.)" gets the point across well enough. Arachnid would know how to design the rest of the page, if he were up for it.eternal_moonlight wrote:Southpaw, If you just want to try to make your own design, I could post it to Arachnid. This is a good idea, but it would look bad on Numa.
It's a bad idea.
That does not sound like it would look that bad.TheEverPresent wrote:couldn't we just have a button that takes you to a page with whos online instead of having it be at the bottom of every page?

Why not? I think there's plenty of space on NUMA for a small piece of text to a spoiler, if it's so helpful. It would be very helpful to me. I've always wondered who was on many times, like when I want to post a quick comment on a map, but I don't know whether he or she will see it right away; or when I am about to post a new map, what friends are online at the time. It would've been a great help for my Elements series, my most anticipated series that I asked three people by PM to be online at a certain span of time, only to find out after I started posting them by interval that they miscalculated the time zone thing or they had last minute plans, leaving my maps untouched for more than half of the event. I'm all for the idea.Tunco123 wrote: No more buttons on Numa.
Only one possible problem: When you click out of your web browser, do you actually log out of NUMA, unlike the forums which has the delay? Do you actually stay online that whole time? I wouldn't think so, but that would be a problem, since I'm sure many people don't actually log off before they close the web browser. The list would be cluttered with people who weren't actually browsing the site.
But if that's not a problem, I think it's a tremendous idea.

Hmm. That changed my mind, it would be nice to see whom is online so you can post the map, and there should be PM system on Numa too, commenting on maps for a personal message is annoying.Technochocolate wrote:When you click out of your web browser, do you actually log out of NUMA, unlike the forums which has the delay? Yes you do. Unless it's not your PC, log off.Technochocolate wrote:Why not? I think there's plenty of space on NUMA for a small piece of text to a spoiler, if it's so helpful. And I, in particular, think that the moderators *Cough, cough!*Manus Australis*cough* are lazy. Though, Arachnid seems like a stubborn brute.

Having a life outside of this community doesn't make you lazy or a stubborn brute. Unlike you, the people in charge of NUMA have other things going on in their day. Arachnid in particular is always extremely busy and doesn't have the time to code all of these suggestions, especially when there are existing bugs that need to be fixed first, which he also doesn't have time for.Awesome67 wrote:*Agree*

Also, your presence is often less than contributory to the threads in which you post. So in general, think before you speak. That will be all.

Sorry if I came across as ignorant, but you, Pheidippides, are being quite a jerk.

So were you when you called pawz lazy and when you called Arachnid a stubborn brute. That's harsh judgment to be passing on people who have done so much to make our community as good as it is.Awesome67 wrote:I find that very offensive. How was I supposed to know that they didn't have time for it? And it's so rude to be prejudice towards people over

Sorry if I came across as ignorant, but you, Pheidippides, are being quite a jerk.
I agree that my insinuation was harsh in its own right. Withdrawn. I was just frustrated because of the way you started judging your superiors as if they existed solely to meet your needs, as if you could do their jobs better. Like I said, these people have been contributing great things to this community since well before you even got here. That's why they're in the positions they're in. We trust them to do what they can to keep the cogs of NUMA turning.
I'm sorry I was so harsh, but please don't speak like that about anyone if, like you said, you're somewhat ignorant of their situations. /I/ took offense at what you said because I, not to mention much of this community, know that pawz and Arachnid are exemplary members who are doing their best for us.
Also, that was a great post. A bit off-topic, but that was my fault. If you consistently contribute to other discussions like that, you'll be on your way to becoming a great lazy member like pawz or Arachnid. ;)

First of all, <3 Pheidi. It's good to know people got your back.
Secondly, Awesome67, I'm not a coder. I'm not an admin of the site so that I can create new additions. I'm here to keep the social aspect of the site from going to hell and I do so every day. To say that myself or Arachnid or the rest of the staff is lazy is a pretty unfounded statement. We're here to keep NUMA running, not cater to your needs.
Thirdly, we're not here to introduce additions that take a lot of coding to implement immediately. I've been working closely with a member of the community to try and get him a coding position on the site so that we can start fixing things before we start implementing immense new additions to the site. (For the most part. There are a few highly anticipated additions he may code from the UserVoice page to keep the plebes happy. ;D )
