About the layout changes:
The top of the list is For Projects, basically everything the community does. Our output. It includes the sections for This Community and This Forum, as well as our Images, Webcomics, and other Projects. I find that the first category explains what we produce, intellectually, as a community. Images aren't just something we talk about and take in. They're something that the community members create and do an amazing job at. Same with our community Webcomics. These have been put to the top of the list, as community creations that we should keep a steady focus on.
The next category is for Discussions, where I find the community does a vast amount of dialogue but less pronounced output. The community still engages in musical ventures and entertaining works, but we tend to prefer just as much talking about them as we do creating them.
The next category is for Games and Technology. Our community thrives on finding new and fun games, playing them, and sharing them with others. Gaming warrants its own category. The PC & Console Gaming forum is a workhorse, holding a lot of threads on a variety of different subjects. There may be a time when it's split up into smaller and more specific groups, but for the time being there's no good way to further define the threads in the forum. Technology, the helpful charioteer of all our gaming needs, makes good bedfellows with the other forums here.
The Metanet and Mapping categories have largely been unchanged.
The Special category, for niche groups and secret projects, is at the bottom, where none may see the hidden evils of its childer.
Administration, the most clandestine and nefarious of all categories, remains unchanged, percolating in the Lovecraftian depths where the Ancient Monolith Tsukatu believes he has some element of his demesne. The Unspeakables, a collection of hideous fetishes imbued with a primeval life-force that bears no semblance to a modern biology, dwell here at the base of the brain-ocean where no light could ever reach. Brain-ocean is typically shortened to "Brocean" by its inhabitants. Broseidon, god of the Brocean, waits patiently for the hour of his brovival.
Thread re-opened for bitching.

If there are two mods per forum, and all the previous mods were demoted, there would be a ≈23% chance I'd become mod if all the people with 50 and above posts were randomly picked. Woot woot.
Anyways, bitchin' layout.

I like this new setup much more than the old new setup, which I hate but came to terms with. I think I like this new setup more than I liked the older new setup, too, but I still like the old setup most.

I think there would be much less of a chance of you being picked for a mod spot out of anyone with 50 posts or more.BionicCryonic wrote:If there are two mods per forum, and all the previous mods were demoted, there would be a ≈23% chance I'd become mod if all the people with 50 and above posts were randomly picked. Well, the layout is OKAY, but I don't see the rules forum anymore. Comments?

I second this opinion. The changes are all great, even if I still can't figure out what the Illusionarium is.Might wrote:Indeed. I like this new layout a lot, the specialised forums were a good idea.lord_day wrote:The new layout is bitching.

I wouldn't agree with you that large communities are better. On the contrary, actually.Tunco123 wrote:It makes us look like a larger community. I like it.Blackson wrote:I think we have too many sub-forums :/
Way too much. One or no mods per subforum, plus three global mods (when I say global mod, I'm talking about the ones that are not administrators), plus ten administrators would do just fine. This is slowly turning into a mod community.Tsukatu wrote:I think we have too many mods.
I dislike the new layout. Although it will produce more topics, 21 subforums (+ 2 special ones) is just way to much for a community that has only 228 members who wrote more than 49 posts.

Instead of making people mods, you could just put them in "Cool People", you know?
I find awkwardly cool, the images forum on the top, with the community and stuff. I like the new layout.

Are you sure? Wouldn't you like to see some specialized categorization around here? We could have subgroups of subgroups. Like having "high-scorers," and "high-scorers with lupus."
