I don't see how he would need more advice than "hit it and quit it." That's all there is to it.Inspired wrote:I guess I trust a few people. A lot of you wouldn't know very much about me, probably the people I trust most are the people living furtherest away so that if I were to be telling something really deep they wouldn't exactly know who I am in real life. In the past I have confided in Ganteka which isn't surprising as I am currently "coaching" him through one of life's obstacles. I also talk to people who confide in me so basically anyone who can confide in me, I will confide in them.

I trust people that I know and have really chilled with, like Blizz, Ultima, rocket_thumped, Yahoozy, Alex, and others. I would trust Dave... maybe. I like Dave.

I trust you, kinda, but the old saying says never to trust Shadow fans. So, it gets pretty difficult.Rhekatou wrote:No one said me <;(

Depending on what wedgie said, I changed my mind.wedgie wrote:Tunco123, when you have seen the same core people on here on an almost daily basis for near on 5 years, I think you can sort of let your paranoia go. When you have talked on vent many times before you can kinda see who people really are.
That being said I would only trust the older guys that I'm familiar with. Not that I would really need to trust anyone on here anyway though. And especially not with anything highly personal that someone else could exploit.
If I ever did need something though, I'd like to think that there are a few people here that would have my back.
I trust PNI, 29403, Chase, LV, GTM, UniverseZero, all the people hangs out at #n-highscores, and some other mods.
And atob. Pawz. Lenny. Slappy. Toasters. And everyone who is my friend at facebook, from this community.
Come on. We are best friends, don't you remember? Hmm? Hmm?Flight wrote:I trust everyone except for Tunco, Awesome67 and that jinxed dude.

Yes, but I won't tell you specifically. Trust is not something you can have from anyone unless you've known them for a long time regardless of whether you've seen them in person or not.
Let me tell you a little story. It's a great story. Of one man sitting at a computer after his parents divorced. Now I'm not sure why but money pretty much went down the drain from house selling and legal mumbo jumbo. So I start looking for freeware games. I eventually come across N because it's quite a small file. (I wasn't aware it was a RAM hog then) Then I saw your forum. I've seen you grow... I've seen you rise in the ranks.
Then it occurred to me to go on IRC to like chat and whatnot. I wanted to hear what you had to say on games and life in general. To think you guys were just a gaming community ... no I saw much more than that. Meanwhile Dave, Blizz and such were trying out the ol' Ventrilo. I stricken with grief, was busy being cynical since I was beginning to believe that I knew more than my family and that I was better than my family. (I sure do mention that a lot. I have my reasons.) So Dave being the host of the party that he is suggested I join up on this... Vent. I remember using voice chat for the very first time... I get comments on how my voice is deep yada yada.
So I'm in Florida and I took on more work then I could handle and I gave up weeks later. It was such that I know longer had anything to do outside my apartment. My sleep cycle became chaotic. I would end up waking up at 5pm and going to bed at 9am EST for instance. I never even turned on the goddamn lights man. I closed all the windows. Nobody even knew there was a man here. Notifications weren't looked at until weeks later I had seen them on the front of the door when I knew I would have at least once piece of mail. That's when the game was up. I was tricked into moving to Pennsylvania.
2 years I spent not having clear access to modern technology until I realized I could walk for 2 hours to the local library to chat for a short amount of time. I got sick of being there anyway.. it was literally getting dangerous there. I made plans to move with my brother to my home town to take a glance at what was once my childhood life. I had forgotten he was a douchebag since I never talk to him... probably why I didn't anyway.
So you see... I talk to people on the internet more than my own family. Just because someone's related to you doesn't mean that they are personally compatible with you. That kind of traditional obligation sent down by nature can really stress people out.
So I noticed you guys truly missed me. You thought hey what happened to that guy? He was busy playing the game of life and he's going for the high score.
YES. I trust you well some of you. To an extent. You have to trust at least one person, otherwise you won't be able to get anywhere in this world. Go at it like a team... a metanet team. Don't get a life... get a META-life. Oh and possibly conquer Earth or something... yeah.

Awesome learn.life story.
Let's see, the only time I've talked to GamingWolf for a considerable amount of time was prolly a year ago, asking for shit about Super Mario World. It wasn't much, but it was enough to see he was a really nice man.
But basically, it's what I'm saying, the IRC community is almost-always so fuckin' cheerful. You're my goddamn salvation for these days where I'm at home, just at home, not going to school, not working, just waiting for things to happen.

GW, that could be our introduction story for the new members of the community.
I realized this community screwed up my social life.
But hey, if we lived in the same house, and except IRC lines and forum posts we actually talked, I could easily say that you guys are like my family. This is Metanet. Welcome.

There's got to be a good reason you quoted his entire post. There has to. I'm trying to think of it now. No luck.

Oh, well. Okay. Yeah, it would no doubt be Pheidippides, or probably Destiny (I talk to him outside of IRC, in XFire actually). And I think Kablizzy is a trustworthy fellow.

Probably the Arstar Group, so ChaoStar, Communist, UniverseZero, Might, BionicCryonic and Aphex.
And there's GTM. But as he's pointed out, I only live a few miles away, so it doesn't really count.

To be honest, if I had a major personal issue I needed to talk with someone about, I have a bunch of close friends to talk to in person. Though it's not like I wouldn't talk about it with some of the people here, in fact it's sometimes easier to talk about problems over a forum because I can express my feelings much more thoroughly through writing than I can by vocally expressing them. So far I just haven't had anything come up that needs to be discussed.
