I am kinda intrigued that UZ believed Borealis's tales were more legitimate than mine. I hardly said anything that pushed the envelope too far. Borealis said he was a renowned musician, worked for a game design company, and showed various non-equivocal images of himself over the years. This guy's act was better than mine? I doubt it. I won't say that I knew he was lying to us--I didn't. I'm just saying that his lies were a bit more outlandish than mine.

Although, I don't understand why b_t did. Does it give you some sense of satisfaction that you've successfully "tricked" us into thinking you're someone who you are not? This is the easiest medium to do it; everyone believes what you say because, well, there's not much reason not to. It's not that difficult to dissuade someone into believing something on the internet, and if you take some pride in doing so, your standard for satisfaction is depressingly low. This is fucking kid shit man. A 15 year old kid is telling you to grow up.

after talking with dave i realize that nothing i can say can measure the pure stupidity and petty nature of this sort of reaction (im not calling you stupid... not personally anyways). its the definition of making mountains out of mole hills. here i was thinking that his name isnt even dave or he's really 10 years younger/older then he previously claimed, but come to learn that all the fabrications were based on / branched off of fact. its not like he claimed to be some sort of successful game designer / music writer loved and known by all >_>. im actually relieved, everyone made it seem so much worse.

I'm somewhat neutral between the last two reactions. I'm not angry at Dave, because that mountain out of molehill thing happened to his lies after he hung around for five years. Nor do I think the lies were particularly deft in their construct. He was consistent, sure, but as Blackson said, it's not difficult to lie to people about something that they have no reason to disbelieve. Go tell your parents that you had to do lines at school because you didn't do their homework, and they'll likely trust you.

EDIT: Oh, also, Blackson clearly has read none of my posts. I explain fully why I did what I did. Five years ago, it seemed like a more patent idea. Kid shit? I dunno. It entertained. And if you've read SotX, The Real N comic, played Space Pimp, played every other game I've invented, heard of my D&D tales.... you'd know that I'm all about the entertainments. At this point, anyone who posts any jilted remark on the whole ordeal simply doesn't have reading comprehension skills. I didn't pull one over on you guys for lulz. Or even because I thought myself more capable than the average Joe on the matter (though I clearly am). I did it because I didn't want to lose the credibility I established when the gates opened:

Five years, I developed a persona for people like Blizz and LV. People that came to internalize a trust for me. Five years. A fair 20-25% of my life. I did it out of fear. Not to screw you over. I was weak and afraid. And (Blackson, read this) I don't think I'm a better person for deceiving you. I fucked up. Hard-gottdamn-core. I tried to leave eight times--way back in the days of TheDailyLlama, even. I tried to abandon this taudry endeavor. And I could have done it, even without leaving. I could have fessed up and been a man. But I didn't.

I'm nothing but apologetic for that. Maybe it gives you solace to present me as a person that is uncaring or unremorseful when you attack me here. But I'm quite the opposite. And with each person I told the news to, I was (where my constantly-giddy and jovial personality allowed) remorseful for the shit I put people through.

I'm sorry. In your mind's eye, present me in whatever villainous manner makes me easiest to dismiss. I apologize, and that's all I can do here.

How did I miss this thread? To be perfectly honest I don't have much to say. It'll be my fourth year here come the end of this month, and even though I never really spent a lot of time getting to know the other people here, this community has had a certain impact in my life. For me, this community has mostly been a venue to hang out and have fun. I always had a feeling the blue_tetris Dave wasn't a complete truth, though I never talked to Borealis so I would never have known. But really, that doesn't matter to me a great deal. This forum has always been kind of cryptic in the sense that you never really knew what was going on. From the "hacker" on the forum (and countless puzzles since), to the Pony Parade, to the Balls shenanigans, to the blue_tetris takeover, and to the forums supposedly being hacked again and erased (I was shortly on IRC for that one). Perhaps because I was never really heavily involved in the forum, but the fact that the forum was almost a game completely on its own was what was fun, to some extent. Unfortunately this means that if this whole situation was really just a ruse-in-a-ruse it wouldn't come as a huge surprise. But on a more serious note, this forum was one of the few things in life that actually challenged my beliefs. I have always tried to keep up with the goings-on in the Debate forum, and I have to say that is part of the reason I'm a completely different person than I was four years ago. While I can't say I completely agree with them, people like Suki and Demonz and the others who frequent the debate forum pulled me out of my belief system, where I just kind of believed things to be true without actually challenging those perspectives. I think this has been a good benefit from my time spent here.

To be honest I'd rather talk about the "issues" on this website than damn near anywhere else, because you guys are all, sadly, smarter than anyone I know irl. I find myself occasionally comparing people at my high school by accident to people on Metanet, and you guys always come out on top in terms of intelligence.
