In a completely legal way (even though I'm sure most of you guys don't care) I got my hands on all things MUSE, so I'm just listening to that right now.

Infinity Guitars was a free download on iTunes a while back. I really didn't like it at first, but now I enjoy it a lot.epigone wrote:Sleigh Bells
EDIT: Also, I'm really enjoying this song right now (unrelated to the above).

I didn't like this much after the first listen, but jesus has it grown on me. He Would Have Laughed might be my favorite Deerhunter song now. And while the album is missing that jammingly-awesome song that past albums have had, it's still great. Bradford Cox has taken a huge step forward as a vocalist.mintnut wrote: Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest

Mississippi John Hurt - Avalon Blues: The Complete 1928 OKeh Recordings
These are some of my favourite blues albums. The first is a real feel-good album despite it being the blues (if you know the blues, you know what I mean). I spent fair portion of my summer drinking gin to it. The latter is simply amazing. It was recorded in 1928 and the sound quality is just unbelievable for the time. It's incredible how relevant it still is to modern music. You can clearly see how guitarists of today were influenced by John Hurt and his ilk.

I actually downloaded a large number of remixes of this song because I liked it but hated the harsh *tschew* sound at the start. Did not get satisfaction.Pheidippides wrote:A recent Pandora-aided discovery: Mirwais - Disco Science

Just watched Beach House perform on Conan and they were really interesting.
... for about 30 seconds...
... not unlike Teen Dream...
Why do you people like this derivative trash? There's literally nothing new and interesting about it.

I know you saw them on Conan. What's the deal? Is this just because of P4K? It wouldn't make me think less of you but you should be able to admit it at this point.

I will admit that I have bands on my computer only based on pitchfork reviews. I will also admit that the Conan performance was not... spectacular. That said, it's been a year almost since the album came out, they've toured a lot, and their music doesn't really transform into a live show, imo. But I genuinely truly loved all of their albums, so far. I think they have a really cool sound, and girl singing, even if it's just Cocteau Twins dream pop. I mean, that is what it is, but they are so consistently good at it.
Plus each of their albums sounds really different to me, within that umbrella of dream pop/ gaze.
