Amateur? Come on :P
Heh. Well, I'll see how the numbers work out when I start this thing, but I'll keep you in pro speed for now :Pska wrote:I'm just an average speed runner :DSeneschal wrote:Ahahaha. Ahaha. Aha.ska wrote:Speed Amateur

Amateur? Come on :P
Do we get to see other people's runs too?
PS, thanks for restarting this. Highscoring comps have pratically frozen since I had to end Mistixia. Also, how did you contact Hendor? I'd very much like to have a word to that lad.
Holly shit you still lurk around?!!!?. You should stop by IRC #n-highscores. You were a nasty highscorer, all of the highscores that are almost maxed are yours.Seifer wrote:sounds like fun,
in for hs pro
Not that I'm in the contest, but what if you held tryouts to get into the pros, and everyone else was just an amatuer. That way people could move up in the rankings. Just an idea.Brocerius wrote:Awesometacular. I'm in - I'll try and fight it out with the pros, both speedrun and highscore.
Maybe, between rounds, you should make it so the best-performing amateur has to move up to the pros, and the worst performing pro has to move down to the amateurs? (Depending on how much overlap there is between the two, obviously, and possibly even more than one in either case if there is much overlap.)
Hmm, I dunno; the tryout would have to be some kind of contest in itself, and could easily become pretty complicated. I don't think it would be too hard to switch people around if they find themselves out of their depth or if they constantly outperformed their competitors.Kablizzy Sucks wrote:Not that I'm in the contest, but what if you held tryouts to get into the pros, and everyone else was just an amatuer. I'm not so keen on the paradigm shift format; I just don't think it would work well in a the context of highscoring at all.karmap0lice wrote:just make it like paradigm as I said. The best player chosed the next map to speed.
As well as for organization, just make everyone play an insanely difficult map, the top half are pros, the bottom half are amateurs. Just a suggestion.
